Later on in the week Jason was sitting on the big rock again. And, arguably, he was in the most awkward moment of his life. Rachel had had Jason's ipod for two days. Yet still, there she was sitting in their meditation spot listening to Jason's ipod. He would have liked to ask her if he could have it back but he promised devotion to her and Jason Strife did not go back on those kinds of promises. Slowly she took out one of the headphones and handed it to Jason. "Here, listen... This is the song I have chosen to dedicate to you. When I want to think of you all I have to do is think of this song." Jason listened; and he recognized both the song and the significance it held for the both of them.
Jason and Rachel continued to listen to music until the horn blew for dinner. They walked down to the lodge and got in their separate lines. The only announcement that night was that after dinner campers were to go to their cabins and change into their costumes. After their change they would all come back to the lodge with their cabin groups to avoid confusion. Then the dance would begin. However until the horn blew for the dance campers were asked to stay away from the lodge so the surprise of decorations wouldn't be spoiled. After these announcements everyone went in for dinner. Jason and Rachel sat at the same table and agreed that once they're both changed they would meet each other by their really big rock.

After dinner they both went to their cabins and changed. Jason was wearing a large Nazgul costume which hid all of his skin. Not even his face was visible. On his belt was a large, plastic sword. He had armored gloves which had spikes on them. While they weren't visible, he was wearing many chains which made clinking noises with every move; these were added to simulate chain mail and armor. Rachel on the other hand was just wearing a dark, red dress. They met by their really big rock and Rachel asked, "Is that you, Jason?" "Yes; Yes it is," Jason responded in a very simple tone. They both climbed up to their spot and Jason pulled out his ipod from the many pocketed cloak he was wearing. Rachel handed back one of the headphones and they listened to various songs.
"Hey! Get down from there!" Jason and Rachel turned around to see two men on the ground wearing faded jeans and muscle shirts. One of them was holding a bat, and the other was wearing brass knuckles. Both of them had yellow bandanas tied around their heads. Neither man was from Camp Bravo, a fact both Rachel and Jason confirmed to themselves. Jason climbed down and asked of the men, "What do you want?" The man with the bat responded, "Anything valuable you got with you, like that ipod." Jason replied as calmly as he could, "I think not," and silently thanked the martial arts classes he had taken instead of P.E. at his high school.
The man with the bat said, "I guess we'll just have to change your mind then, huh?" then he swung the bat at Jason. Jason ducked but threw his right arm up in the air and caught the bat as the man desperately tried to stop his swing. Jason stood back up and in the process took the tip of the bat in his right hand over to his left side where his left hand grabbed it. With both hands on the bat Jason tugged with all his might, flinging the bat off into the woods. The recently made "bat-less" man stepped back to allow his friend with the brass knuckles to step forward. "Knuckles" swung his right fist around at Jason who slapped the hand away with his left arm then started a punch towards his assailant. Midway through the swing a hurricane of color and sounds engulfed Jason and left him in darkness.

(all is one and one is all.)

"Hello! I'm in the middle of a fight here!"

(to harm them would be to harm yourself.)

"Who cares!? They attacked us!"

(you should defend yourself but do not be so quick to harm.)

"How the hell am I gonna do anything if I can't hurt the other guy!?"

(disable him.)

"I'm not strong enough to win without hurting them."

(they are both full of adrenaline and strength. draw on that.)

"...How?"

(all is one and one is all.)

"Okay, okay, okay. Can I go back now?"

(yes.)

Suddenly, Jason twisted his elbow in such a way that his fist missed "Knuckles." Instead, Jason's arm was moved down to the left where he stopped and reversed his arm's momentum to hit "Knuckles" in the gut; sending him back, doubled-over. Unbeknownst to the thug, Jason had grabbed the brass knuckles as the man was stumbling backwards. Jason tossed these off into the forest as well. Both assailants were glaring at him then and the one who brought the bat growled, "You're gonna wish you'd gone quietly." Jason ducked because of a gut instinct and was immediately thankful. Apparently, "Knuckles" and "Batboy" had had a third friend who had picked up the bat Jason had thrown into the forest and had taken to swinging it wildly at Jason as Jason himself stumbled back just barely dodging swings. After a particularly clumsy swing Jason grabbed the man, spun him around, and hit the back of his head, knocking him unconscious. Jason turned to the first two men and asked, "What was that about me wishing?" Jason regretted taunting the two men as they each pulled out knives and started walking towards him in low, cautious poses.
Finally, Jason realized that Rachel had been calling for help the entire time. Silently he thanked her for being the smarter of the two victims here. As the first knife attack came Jason concentrated on the strength of those two men and inhaled. Jason's eyes started to glow an icy blue under his Nazgul hood. Only the two men could see this light. Jason evaded the first knife attack easily then thwacked the man on the back of his head, as he staggered past, knocking him out as well. Jason could not help but think, "Two down, one to go." As the second man lunged forward with his knife Jason performed the exact same maneuver except on the opposite side as the previous attack. All three attackers were down and Jason and Rachel dashed up the hill towards the crowd of people running to the calls for help they had heard.
Jason panted, "Three guys... attacked us... knives... down there," he pointed behind himself. "Where are they now?" asked a councilor. Rachel responded, "Down there... Jason... He knocked 'em out..." "Well they're not there now," said someone else. Both Jason and Rachel forgot about panting as they yelled, "WHAT!?" and spun around to look down the hill. Sure enough, there was no trace of the battle that had taken place there. Someone asked of them, "Have you ever heard of the boy who cried wolf?" Jason responded angrily, "Yeah, I have. It involved a six year old shepherd, a wolf, and a town full of stupid people. I don't see any of that here!" "Yeah well we don't see three KOed guys so you shouldn't be talking!" said one of the other campers. A councilor said much more gently, "You shouldn't joke about being attacked, Jason," then to the crowd of people, "all right, back to your cabins, the horn is about to blow." Jason sighed, defeated, then turned around and started walking back to his cabin. "See you at the dance my evil king," said Rachel to Jason who belatedly realized that he was still wearing his Nazgul costume.

Back at their cabins everyone heard the horn blow. Cabin groups moved forward to the lodge. Once there, everyone lined up and listened to the announcements. All the announcements were is "don't leave the lodge until the dance is over." Then the dance began. Jason walked in with Rachel and they started dancing. Rachel looked really good while Jason barely shuffled his feet. "C'mon, dance!" yelled Rachel over the sound of music, dancing, and singing. Exasperated by his own failings Jason yelled, "Fine! I'll dance!" He took off his cloak and threw it to the side of the room. "Yeah! Take it all off!" screamed Rachel, jokingly. Jason removeed the chains and threw them over to the cloak. He took off the big boots and threw them over as well. Finally he took off the sweatshirt and threw it to the side.
Jason thought about all the energy in the room: of the dancers, of the lights, of the music, of the people who wished they were dancing; then he inhaled. Inaudibly, Jason whispered to himself, "Yoshi likes to jump." His eyes glowed icy blue again, this time a little bit more vibrant. Then he jumped. This jump propelled him fifteen feet up into the air. He landed, shocked, then laughed wildly as he jumped up again. Jason quickly started doing back flips and front flips and twirls in midair. He felt incredibly free, flying through the air. He extended this feeling of freedom to those around him and soon the lodge filled with people jumping. People who had previously been afraid to even step onto the dance floor were now being swept up in the tidal wave of energy. Soon everyone was leaping up into the air. No one questioned how it was possible. They only knew that they loved these people around them. These people who were lending the collective energy to be free. Everyone in the lodge was free.
