Hey Guys… sorry this chapter is SO late… I’ve had a lot to do these past few months and I didn’t have time to post anything… I hope you guys forgive me and keep reading- this story would be nothing with out its readers… Anyway I hope everyone likes this chapter…

“Gimme a… I don’t know… how bout a… a Bud…” said the man standing in front of Vee. She was on her bartending shift at Booze Brothers and the bar was pretty crowed for a Thursday night. It was about three hours before closing and about five minutes before Vee’s shift ended.

Her shifts started and ended two hours earlier since her detention had started. Vee didn’t need to be late during her internal suspension, especially since her tardiness was what got her in trouble in the first place. Her week detention was almost up so she didn’t need to be adding more time to it.

Especially since she was spending most of her time with Ja… Wait she promised her self she wouldn’t think about him outside of school…

She only had one more day to go and then she was free. Free to go to New York.

Her flight left at 5:20 and landed at LaGuardia Airport at 7:10. Her ride would be waiting for her to take her to her cousin’s condo, where she would be spending the weekend. She had already gotten off work for the long weekend from Luke, so she was all set, all Vee had to do was pack. And see if she could find someone to give her a ride to the airport. Her aunt and uncle were still out of town so that ruled them out, and she really didn’t know anyone that well to bum a ride.

Vee handed a woman in a tight red dress a martini and then let Max take over as bartender. She slipped into the back and took her normal clothes out of her locker and put them into her bag. She’d wear her work clothes home instead of changing. Vee grabbed her coat and started to head for the back door when Luke called her into his office.

“Hey, are you leaving now?” He asked from his desk.

“Yeah, I still gotta pack and find a ride for tomorrow. I think I’m gonna book a cab or something.” Vee said leaning in the door way of Luke’s and Danny’s office.

“Why don’t I just take you?” Luke offered. “I could pick you up at your place and then drop you off at the airport. It’ll be no problem.” He said and looked up to meet her eyes.

“No Luke, but thanks. Friday nights are big for you guys here. I’ll just call a cab, it’ll be ok.” She said smiling. Luke was cute and Vee knew he had a soft spot for her. He was always looking out for her and made sure that she took long breaks during her shifts.

“It’s not a problem Vee; I’ll pick you up at your house and then drive you to the airport. I’m sure my brother can manage a couple hours with out me.” He said looking up at her from his desk. “What time is your flight?”

Vee saw it in Luke’s face that he really wanted to do this for her and nothing was going to change his mind. She gave in, not that she minded him taking her. It would be a nice change to going places by herself all the time. “The plane boards at 5:00 so I guess I gotta be there at around 4:30.”

“Ok I’ll be by your place around 3:45. Is that ok?” Luke asked.

“Yeah it should be fine. Thanks again Luke. I really appreciated this.” Vee said.

“Ok well you got of your shift 10 minutes ago so I won’t keep you anymore. I’ll see you tomorrow at 3:45.”

“You got it. Thanks again Luke.” Vee said and turned around and left. Now she only had packing left to do, since Luke was apparently going to be her ride.

Jay was walking from the closet to the bed in his apartment on the other side of town. The TV was on and the movie The Bird Cage was on. He needed a laugh after how hard his week had been.

He was packing all the things he’d need for this weekend. He had decided to go to New York after much pressure from both Matt and Hannah to take the two days off. It wasn’t like he was doing anything over the weekend. He had spent most of his time in school and had finished all his work. His little detention sessions had stopped when Vee started her suspension. Instead of having to spend one small period with her and after school time, he now had to spend 3 long periods and lunch with the “bad ass”.

The time they spent together wasn’t so bad. But it was silent. They hardly ever talked. Jay would finish up his lessons plans for the week and the next or grade papers. Vee would either sit there not looking at him or she would be doing work that had been assigned to her. He had a bad attitude when he walked into the room and it changed instantly when he walked out of it.

Now Jay understood why Vee had the reputation that she did. But he had seen the side of her that one had before and that was the Vee he was attracted too.

Jay knew why Vee hated him. He had shut her out of his life that day he walked out on her; after all she did to help him. He had literally left her standing out in the cold. It wasn’t his fault. If they had met in a different situation, if Jay wasn’t Vee’s teacher, they would have been fine, allowed to start a relationship. But it wasn’t a different situation. Jay was stuck and he was pushing down his feeling to keep Vee out of trouble and to keep his job.

N/A: I’m trying to make this story as original as possible- and I know there are a lot of Teacher/Student stories out there but Im trying not to make this one cliché… if you have any ideas for this story please review/email them to me. I’m open to anything.

Next Chapter is the Friday before the party and probably half of the week end in New York. Review and tell me what you want to see happen!!
