Hallucinations
by Jareth Valentine
The things I see could never be,
Or so I've heard it said.
Wallabies with peacock's knees
Are all inside my head.
A giant ox with chicken pox,
An earring and a spoon
Could never be, except for me,
Because I am a loon.
The normal folk, they laugh and poke,
and call me funny names,
While flowers swing, pigs dance and sing,
and flies play parlor games.
And so I've found, when they're around,
(the 'normal folk', I mean)
I have to laugh on their behalf,
They're missing quite a scene.
