Neverending running
Ceasing to ignite
Always being chased-
A life led by fright.
Voices whisper to her,
She tells them to disappear,
Her temporary boldness
Again replaced by fear.
Then, a laugh resounded-
In her mind it hangs,
It stops her in her tracks,
She shudders at it's fangs.
The monster's teeth are bared now,
Sharp and glistening white,
The girl is frozen stiff in shock,
Her result of the plight.
Another one beside her,
She doesn't know what to do,
Then, she remembers,
Her calmed mind not askew.
She thrust the sword from the scabbard
Into the hideous beast,
Plunges it into his heart at last,
And smiles to say the least.
After the other is killed
She stands back and observes,
Tears form in her eyes
As she can't beleive her nerve-
The courage that drove her
To protect herself- her life,
This may be the end of her
On-continuing strife-
So she sheathes her sword again
And continues down the road,
To a new life- a better one,
For all the world to show.
