Chapter 1: The Secret
Gemini Valor was walking through the crowds outside of Marcus Junior
High, a school in the small, unknown town of Whispering Falls that was full
of people who were from magical families. It was the first day of the
school year. Gemini was now in the eighth grade. If she survived this year
the worst part of school (the teasing part) would be over. Her black hair
shimmered in the sunlight. She was scanning the crowd for her friends. She
was tall enough to see over everyone's heads about 5 feet 9 inches.
Aquarius McDagger and Aries Averet were looking for Gemini. Aries was
only a bit shorter than Gemini and Aquarius. At last Gemini's green eyes
met Aries brown ones. "She's over there," said Aries.
Aquarius' blue eyes looked in the direction Aries was pointing.
Aquarius waved Gemini over.
Gemini spotted her friends and smiled. Aquarius had her blonde hair
pulled back in a ponytail while Aries' brown hair was worn down. Gemini
walked over to her friends and they started comparing what color they where
in. Depending on how the school's computer shuffled up the names you could
end up in three different colors, red, blue, or green. All three girls were
in blue. The three had not only shared school experiences but they also
shared a secret. They were 3 of the 12 Zodiac Protectors. This secret
formed a bond between the three. Each had her own power. Gemini had the
power to read minds and orb in to peoples' thoughts. Aquarius could control
sunlight and water with her emotions. If she was sad it would rain, if she
was happy it would be sunny. Aries had the power of telekinesis and astral
projection.
Gemini, Aquarius, and Aries were the first ones in the building. They
went to the place that they were told to go to in their letters. There the
color teachers told them which teacher was their first hour teacher. All
three girls were in Mrs. Batson's first hour. In their first hour was a boy
named Leo Macintosh. Gemini had a huge crush on him.
Leo was also a Zodiac Protector. When Gemini searched his mind with
her power she not only found that he controlled fire and could turn
invisible, she found that he liked her, too. She was ecstatic.
