Creature of the Night
Softly and deftly,
When night is still and dark,
I feel a heat within me,
A cut that left a mark.
A blaze that seems to blow my mind
And all my sanity,
Unleashing hate and anger unwind
To face reality.
A roar of fierce inferno
Rises to my lips,
Setting free the demon in me
The lair in which it sleeps.
Bristling and snarling,
I stand beneath the rain,
I slash and dig the muddy ground,
Trying to ease the pain.
Suddenly with an inhuman cry,
I see my own reflection.
With dripping fangs and yellow eyes
I was a mutilation.
The darkness has me captured,
I have no wish to run,
The good in me has ruptured,
This beast have I become.
I live no more in weaknesses
My enemies will all take flight.
I am purely abhorrence,
A creature of the night.
