If the rain were falling outside your window

And you could hear the drops splashing dully against the pane

And you didn't want to wake up but the monotone of the rain would not cease

And you felt like all you could see when you opened your

Eyes

Was

Gray...

And you sighed at the sunlight

Because you knew it would only disappear into nothing as soon

As you began rely on its gentle golden beaming

So you turned your back to the morning sky

And felt the world get cold behind you

And heard the wind that

Whisked

The sun

Away...

And the sky froze over into lifeless absolute

And despair crawled over your skin like a lover's gentle touch

When you knew that the clouds had gone gray

So you feel warm tears as they slip down your cheeks

Releasing no anger and giving no solace

But only revealing your weakness and loss

And to part your lips in speech yeilded nothing but

Cold

Dead

Breath...

And the dawn shattered silently over the hills

Sending spirals of dew into dust

And the rain kept on and the clouds still rolled

As the lightning crashed in your mind

And the moon never rose and the grass fell ill

And the silver rose

Wilted

And

Died...

If you witnessed the death of everything pure

And the Gods turned their back on the world as you watched

Could you tell me the pain of watching our world

Die slowly with a soft, silent scream

Is worse than the pain that I'm feeling now...

...

Of course

...

So please... let the end... begin with the rain...
