Crescent sun
Chapter 3:
Adjaki

He hadn't thought about the answer before blurting it out but it felt right. Dragon Riders were legend, they were known as brutal killers that had to chose between a good and evil side. All of which in tales had turned to the side of good of course, to fight agents the evil that had tried to rule the kingdoms. But these stories were fake, fictional tales made up by old men to try and entertain children. Dragons had lived long ago, that much was true, but they had not actually chosen a rider that was the fiction in them. The dragons had ruled as overlords of the skies, they had answered to none. Humans and elves had killed them off, long ago. 'This is a dream. It is, it HAS to be...'
'This is no dream I told you, this is real and you accepted the request even though you basically had no choice in the matter you still accepted it. Now if you don't mind I would like a name.' The dragon read his thoughts.
"Fine pushy, how about Doman? Chiel? Zeeder? Adjaki?..."
"I like that one. Adjaki. It sounds cool." Rain commented, still stunned but recovering.
'Do you like it? It's YOUR name.'
'Yes it sounds suitable.' It got up stretching its wings. 'I'm hungry. Do you have anything to eat?'
"What does he eat?" Kai
"He eats meat. Raw meat or fish."
"Should have guessed. I think we have some in the ice box." He left to go get it leaving them alone.
'Isn't it strange how he said Adjaki? What does it mean in your language? I'm a bit rusty.'
'The dragons say it as a blessing. Or a curse. I believe in your language it means the throats of fire.'
'I would have thought you would pick an elf; they are more powerful after all.
'It is not the power that makes a rider; it is what they choose to do with it. The person I chose must have heart and must be willing to do what it takes... Whatever the cost..."
'You think Kai would?'
'Positive...'
'Than I guess that's what's best.'
"Here." Kai came through the door and flicked an uncooked steak at Adjaki who caught it in her mouth and devoured it hungrily ripping the meat to shreds.
"I'm gonna have to keep you somewhere..."
"She can stay with Raid, my dragon, he should want some company."
"You have a dragon? Cool."
"Yeah lets go. I have to redo his bandages anyway." They left with Adjaki hiding in a cloth knapsack that rested on Kai's back. They got to a clearing in the middle of the woods. "ADJAKI! COME ON ITS FINE!"
'I feel the presence of another... Has the hatchling awakened?' a deep, kind voice filled their heads.
"Yes"
'Very well then I will come.'
"Good." A huge shadow came over them and the wind picked up. The air started to become warm and the shape swooped down.
"Umm... Rain how big can dragons get?"
"Pretty big..."

Dark_Piro: Hope you like this one I'm dropping Times end but my friends like this one so I'll keep it. ^-^ This is a short chapter. O well.
