On occasion, I imagine.

If there is a perfect friend for me.

If she’s waiting across the horizon.

Gazing up at the stars.

Thinking about me.

I imagine her dance, graceful and steady.

I imagine her like an angel, sent to guide me.

I imagine her touching my wounds, and healing my scars.

She makes me forget I was ever sad.

She makes me laugh at night, when all have gone to sleep.

She makes me wonder if I could ever cry again.

            And if to cry, for a joy and happiness I’ve never experienced before.

And when I could no longer hold on...

She’d be there to comfort me.

To bring me back to reality.

To touch my cheek.

And tell me it would be all right.

She’d never doubt.

I’d never lie.

We’d trust each other.

We’d look after each other.

We’d belong to together.

Now I ask.

Where are you?

I wonder.

I pray that one day we will meet.

Or maybe...

She’s standing right in front of me.
