Dual Vengeance
Jabo opened his eyes, to find himself sitting in a seat on a plane. As he looked to his right, he saw a window. Jabo looked out the window, to see clouds and very small objects on the ground. He looked to his left side, to see Laura sitting beside him. To Jabo, Laura was looking as beautiful as ever. Her long blonde hair flowing down her shoulders, her beautiful green eyes, that someone could get lost in.
"What the fuck's this?" said James, in a very loud voice.
"James," said Gordon "ya wanna keep your voice down?"
"Well sorry G," said James "but look at this!" James held a small liquor bottle in front of Gordons face.
"What's the problem?" asked Gordon.
"Well how the hell are ya supposed to get drunk off this?" said James, as he shook the bottle in his hand. "There's like two fucking ounces in here, that ain't enough to get ya drunk!"
"Then you just order another one." said Gordon.
"I've already had ten!" said James, a very slight slur in his voice.
"Then have ten more, and shut the hell up!" said Gordon with a smile.
A smile came across Jabos face, as he listened to the conversation between James and Gordon. As Jabo sat back in his chair, he placed his hand down. He felt a hand rest itself on top of his, he looked to his side, to see Laura looking at him, a smile on her face. As Jabo smiled back, he was glad that he had such a good team, a group that would do anything for any one of them. He was glad that he was able to convince them to take this trip to Japan. He told them the whole story about Himiko, and how it was nearing
the sixth anniversary of her death. Jabo knew that he needed to go, he needed closure.
***
Having left the airport once it landed in Japan, the group began walking around carrying their luggage. They kept walking, until they found an alleyway. They walked into the alley, and opened their luggage.
"Pretty ingenious there Jabo," said Gordon, as he opened his dufflebag, moving some clothes to check that his shotgun was in there.
"Really!" said James, checking to make sure he had his guns. "I mean sneakin our weapons in by hiding them under clothes."
"Isn't airport security supposed to check luggage though?" asked Laura.
"Well," said Jabo "guess we're lucky that we dealt with such shitty security."
After checking that they had their weapons, the group picked up their luggage and started walking again.
"So," asked James "were are we staying?"
"We're gonna stay at a hotel like we always do." said Jabo.
"But I thought you lived in Japan for awhile," said James "don't ya have any friends that you can call on, that we can stay with?" James then felt a hand slap him across the back of the head. He looked to the side to see Gordon with a look on his face.
"Christ you're an idiot James!" said Gordon "Last time Jabo was here, was like five or more years ago. I don't think the issue here is about you having to pay for a room or not."
"Sorry!" said James.
"Don't worry about it," said Jabo, with a smile "we're all just tired from the trip. We'll get a room, rest a bit, then go out to a bar."
"Well," said James "there's one thing ya might wanna do before going to a bar."
"What's that?" asked Jabo
"Shave!" said James, with a smile. "I mean look at yourself." Jabo looked at his reflection in the window of a store. It had been a couple weeks since he'd shaved, due to his mind being on this trip. As he looked at his reflection, he saw what appeared to be a beard starting.
"Damn," said Jabo with a laugh "you're right!" The group continued walking, until they found a hotel. They went in, got their rooms, then had a rest.
***
As they sat in a bar, Jabo noticed that they seemed to look out of place. Apart from the scattered tourists in different sections of the bar, the patrons were mostly Japanese.
"Holy shit!" said James, with a slur in his voice. "This shit's strong, what is it?"
"Sake." said Jabo.
"Sorry Jabo," said James with a laugh. "We're teammates and everything, but I don't want any sucky from you." James looked over at Laura, and winked. "Now, Laura on the other hand."
Laura smiled, as she placed her hand on James leg. She moved her hand down James leg, until her hand hovered just above his crotch. James looked over at Jabo with a big smile on his face. All of a sudden, Laura closed her hand to make a fist, and connected it with James's crotch. James let out a painful yell, and he held onto his crotch, and fell to the floor. Jabo and Gordon having witnessed this, started laughing.
"Jabo?" came a womans voice from behind him. Jabo turned himself around on the bar stool he was sitting on. Standing in front of him was a beautiful Asian woman. Looked to be in her mid 20's about 5'5", and long dark hair.
"Aya?" said Jabo "Is that you?"
"Yes," said Aya with a smile, as she wrapped her arms around Jabo, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Good thing I shaved before going out!" said Jabo with a smile.
"What are you doing here?" asked Aya.
"It's the sixth anniversary of Himiko's death," said Jabo "I came to see her, I need closure. I might visit the family too." Jabo watched as a serious look showed up on Aya's face. "What's wrong?" asked Jabo.
"Nothing I want to talk about now," said Aya "can you come to my place tomorrow?"
"Sure," said Jabo "but what's wrong?"
"All will be explained tomorrow," said Aya "Please remember to stop by."
"I will!" said Jabo. Aya wrapped her arms around Jabo, and proceeded to hug him again. Jabo noticed that this hug seemed to be a little stronger then the first one. He watched as Aya, turned around and walked back to some people that she was with. Jabo proceeded to walk back to the group, to see an angry look on Laura's face.
"What was that about?" asked Laura, with a raised eyebrow.
"Really," said James "you two were talking all weird talk, couldn't understand a damn word you were saying!"
"I think I can simplify this for everyone," said Gordon "who was the girl?"
"Aya Tomizawa," said Jabo "she was a friend of Himiko, and thus a friend of mine."
"So what was up with her?" asked Gordon "I saw her face get all serious at one point."
"I'm wondering that too." said Jabo "I told her about wanting to visit Himiko's parents, and she got all serious and told me to stop by tomorrow, she's got something to tell me."
"Think something happened to Himiko's parents?" asked Laura.
"Shit!" said Jabo, with a serious look on his face "I hope not!"

The time was nearing midnight, as a middle aged Asian man sat in a chair in front of a desk. As he sat reading the newspaper, there was a knock on his door.
"Come in" said the man, as he raised his head from the paper. An Asian man in his twenties came into the room, wearing a black suit. As he walked in, he bowed in front of the older man.
"What is it?" asked Ryohei Yamane.
"The man you've told us about before," said the younger man "he, and a group of three other people were spotted in a local bar." Ryohei stood up, and walked towards a window behind him.
"So," said Ryohei, his hands behind his back "he is back in my territory!"
"Do you want us to take care of him?" asked the younger Asian man.
"Not yet," said Ryohei "I'll let you know when the time is right." A smile then came across Ryohei's face.

It was three in the morning, as Laura laid in bed. As she turned over to put her arm around Jabo, she found that he wasn't there. Laura opened her eyes, and saw that Jabo wasn't anywhere in the bedroom. As she got up to look for him, she could feel a cool breeze. She looked in the other room, to see the door to the balcony open. As Laura moved towards the door, she saw Jabo standing outside.
As Jabo stood on the balcony, except for the few faint sounds from the streets, there was silence. Jabo looked down at his right hand, and looked at the ring on his right hand. The fact that him and Laura were married, was still fresh in his mind. Jabo walked over to a chair on the balcony, where he sat his trenchcoat. He stuck his hand in one of the pockets, and pulled out a ring box. He walked back over to the railing of the balcony, and opened the
box. Inside it was two rings, one his, the other Himiko's. As Jabo looked at the rings, he let out a sigh. As he looked back up to watch the world go by, he felt arms wrap around his chest. Jabo turned around, to see Laura standing in front of him.
"Something wrong?" asked Laura, a sound of concern in her voice.
"Just thinking" said Jabo.
"About her?" asked Laura.
"Yeah!" said Jabo after a moment of hesitation.
"It's okay Jabo," said Laura "we all need closure. Even after we all teamed up, and things began happening between us, I still would sometimes think of Nicolas."
"Yeah?" said Jabo.
"Yes," said Laura "but I'm with you now. I know Nicolas would have wanted me to be happy, and to move on. That's what I did, and ended up with a great man like you." Jabo turned his head, so his eyes met with Lauras. As he looked at her beautiful eyes, he began moving his face closer to hers. Jabo could feel the wetness of Lauras lips, as they locked with his. As Jabo wrapped his arms around Laura, she wrapped her arms around him.
***
The next morning, the group met outside the hotel, getting ready to face the day.
"So," said James "where we going today?"
"Well," said Jabo "I gotta go see Aya today, so..."
"So, we're going with ya!" said James with a smile.
"James!" said Laura sternly "Maybe Jabo wants to see her alone."
"Yeah James," said Gordon "idiot!" Gordon proceeded to smack James across the back of the head.
"It's okay," said Jabo with a smile. "I think it's a good idea for you all to come, will give you a chance to meet Aya."
"Cool," said James "then if she's not married or anything, I can get a little Asian pussy!"
"Christ James!" said Laura "Is sex all you think about?"
"Fuckin eh!" James said with a big smile.
***
After some traveling on foot, the group made it to Aya's home. As they came up to the house, Aya came outside to greet them.
"Hello everyone!" said Aya with a big smile.
"What did she say?" James whispered into Jabo's ear.
"She said hello" said Jabo. The group followed behind Aya, as she led them inside the house. As they all sat down, Aya sat right up beside Jabo, and whispered into his ear.
"Why did you bring them with you?" asked Aya.
"It's just easier this way." said Jabo, with a smile. His face then went serious. "So, why did you want to talk to me today, when I mentioned Himiko's parents?"
"Well," said Aya with a sigh. "I've got some news!"
"What is it?" asked Jabo.
"Well," said Aya "Do you remember Masahiro Yamane?"
"Of course," said Jabo angrily. "He was the asshole responsible for Himiko's death!"
"Well," said Aya "I don't know that you knew this, but his father is head of the Yakuza!"
"Did she just say something about the Japanese Mafia?" asked James.
"You understood what she was saying?" said Gordon.
"Well," said James "I heard the word Yakuza, and I've watched enough John Woo movies to know what that is!"
"Anyhow," said Aya "It happened not long after the funeral, when you left."
"What?" asked Jabo "What happened?"
"Masahiro's father," said Aya "Ryohei Yamane found out what you did to his son. He tried to send you a message, by killing Himiko's family."
"Oh god!" said Jabo.
"Yeah," said Aya "I was visiting them when it happened!"
"What..what did happen to them?" asked Jabo, a lump in his throat.
"I hid when it happened," said Aya "So I'll tell you only what I saw. A group of four men came into the house with Ryohei. Himiko's father tried to fight them, two of the men beat him up, and held him down so he could watch."
"Watch what?" asked Jabo.
"He was forced to watch, as Ryohei came up and slit Himiko's mothers throat. He held her head up, so her eyes remained open as the blood sprayed onto the ground."
"Christ!" said Jabo, trying to fight back tears. "What happened to him?"
"I don't really know," said Aya "I couldn't see what they did to him. All I saw was Ryohei pull out a sword, walk over to him, then I heard him yell out in pain."
"Motherfucker!" Jabo said in english "Motherfucker,
MOTHERFUCKER!"
"Uh oh!" said James "Jabo sounds pissed!"
"Ya think?" said Gordon in a sarcastic voice. Everyone watched as Jabo stood up, and pulled a handgun out of his shoulder holster.
"What do you think you're doing?" asked Aya, as she grabbed Jabos arm.
"I'm gonna go find Ryohei, and blow his fucking brains out!" said Jabo angrily. "He killed what was left of any family I've known, for that, he's dead!"
"That's crazy!" said Aya "You can't very well take him on yourself, in case you forgot, he's head of the Yakuza!"
"Oh shit!" said James.
"What?" asked Gordon.
"I heard her say Yakuza again," said James "I got a feeling Jabo's gonna be getting himself into some heavy shit...again!"
"Please!" said Aya, a look of concern on her face. "Don't try to take him on, you're one of the last people alive that I really care for. Please, don't take him on!"
"Okay" said Jabo, as he reached over and hugged Aya. "Don't worry, I won't take him on!"
"What are you going to do then?" asked Aya.
"Well," said Jabo "tomorrow is the anniversary, I'm going down to the cemetery to visit her."
"I'll meet you there tomorrow then." said Aya "I wanna pay my respects too!"
"Will see you there then!" said Jabo, a smile on his face. Jabo and Aya both stood up, and walked up to each other. The group watched as Jabo and Aya hugged, and exchanged kisses on the cheek. As they walked towards the group, they all stood up.
"Are we going?" asked James.
"In a minute James" said Jabo. Jabo moved to the side, as Aya stood in front of the rest of the group.
"I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances," said Aya "hopefully next time we meet, will be under happier circumstances."
"What she say?" asked James.
"I'll translate later." said Jabo. The group left Aya's home, and began walking back towards the hotel.
***
Jabo opened his eyes, to find himself inside the home of Himiko's parents. He looked around the room he was in, when he heard talking. The sound got louder, as he walked through the rooms. As he entered one of the rooms, he saw Himiko's parents, and Aya talking. A thud sound was heard,
and four guys in suits walked in, with an older looking Asian man.
"That must be Ryohei." Jabo said to himself. He watched as Himiko's father tried to attack Ryohei. He was knocked down, and two of the guys held him to the floor. Jabo watched as through all this chaos, Aya managed to hide
without anyone seeing her. Jabo watched as Ryohei knelt behind Himiko's mother, with a knife to her throat. Trying to do something, but finding that he couldn't. Jabo was forced to just watch, as Ryohei sliced the knife across her throat. The blood sprayed from her neck, as she fell forward. He watched as Ryohei stood up, and walked over to Himiko's father, a sword in hand. Ryohei lifted the sword over his head, and brought it down into the fathers
chest. He let out a painful yell, as blood sprayed out of his chest.
"NOOO!!" yelled Jabo, as he sat up in a cold sweat. Jabo looked around, and found that he was in his hotel room. He looked beside him, to see Laura resting comfortably. Jabo looked at the clock on the bedside table, the time was two in the morning. Jabo got out of bed, and walked into the bathroom. Feeling the bed move, Laura woke up to find Jabo wasn't laying beside her.
"Where'd he go now?" asked Laura, as she got up. She looked over at the balcony door, but found it was closed. As she turned around, she saw that the bathroom light was on. She slowly made her way there, to see Jabo sitting on
the corner of the bathtub, his body covered in a cold sweat.
"Jabo?" asked Laura "Are you okay?"
"Yeah" Jabo said, faking a smile. "Why do you ask?"
"Well," said Laura "it's two in the morning, and you're covered in a cold sweat! I know you better then that Jabo, what's wrong?" Laura sat down beside Jabo on the edge of the bathtub, and he told her about his dream.
"Oh my god!" said Laura
"My thoughts exactly!" said Jabo "That's what Aya said she saw that day."
"Well," asked Laura "what are you gonna do?"
"Tomorrow," said Jabo "I'll pay my respects to Himiko. After that, Ryohei is fucking dead!"
"What about your promise to Aya?" asked Laura.
"You just said you know me better then that." said Jabo "So you know what I'm going to do!"
"True!" said Laura, as she leaned closer to Jabo "But you're not going at it alone!" She wrapped her arms around Jabo, he wrapped his arms around her, and rested his head on her chest.
***
It was early the next day, as four figures could be seen walking through the light fog in the cemetery.
"So," asked James "do you remember where it is?"
"Christ you're an idiot James." said Gordon.
"What?" said James "I was just askin a question!"
"Well of course he's gonna know where it is," said Gordon "he was the one that buried her." The group walked past various headstones, until they came to Himiko's. As they stopped in front of it, Jabo walked over and placed his hand on the headstone. The rest of the group watched, as Jabo closed his eyes, and lowered his head. They stood there in silence, as they looked at Jabo. They heard footsteps coming up behind them. Everyone, including Jabo, turned around to see Aya coming towards them. Aya walked up beside Jabo, and placed her arm over Jabos shoulder. The group continued standing in silence, as Jabo and Aya knelt down in front of the grave.
"How sentimental!" came a voice from the fog. Jabo and Aya stood up, and turned around. From out of the fog, came Ryohei Yamane, and about ten Yakuza's.
"Ryohei Yamane, I presume" said Jabo.
"The very same!" said Ryohei with a grin.
"What are you doing here?" demanded Jabo "This is sacred ground!"
"I'm here for vengeance for my son!" said Ryohei angrily. "You took him from me!"
"He took from me the woman I loved!" Jabo said angrily. "And you took from me, the only family I've ever known!"
"Enough of this!" said Ryohei, as he looked at the Yakuza standing on either side of him.
"You're right!" said Jabo, as the group took their places beside him, and pulled out their weapons.
"ATTACK!" yelled Ryohei angrily, as he looked at Jabo. The Yakuza's began running at Jabo and the group, weapons in high ready. One of the guys ran at Jabo with a sword, Jabo quickly pulled out a MAC-10, and fired a round
into his chest. Blood sprayed onto Jabo, as the guy fell down dead. Meanwhile, a guy came running at Gordon, firing a handgun. As one of the shots hit Gordon in the shoulder, he grabbed the guy by the throat.
"That was my shoulder you asshole!" said Gordon angrily, as he held the guy up, choking the life out of him. As Gordon tightened his grip, he heard a shot, and saw the guy was holding up was bleeding from the back of his head. Gordon took a closer look at the guy, to see that he had been shot in the forehead. He turned around, to see a Yakuza holding a gun with a smoking barrel. Gordon figured the guy was aiming for him, but hit one of his
partners. Gordon threw the dead guy at him, knocking him to the ground. As he looked up, the last thing he saw was the barrel of Gordon's shotgun. Gordon lifted his shotgun, and looked over at James who stood with a smile and two smoking barrels. As Gordon looked on the ground in front of James, he saw two Yakuza's with several bullet holes in their chests.
"Just like Chow Yun Fat in any John Woo movie!" laughed James.
"Yeah," said Gordon "only those films were done in Hong Kong!"
"Shut up!" said James, as he held up his handgun, and got a guy with a headshot without even looking. They looked over at Laura, who was engaged in hand to hand combat with one of the guys. As the guy ran at Laura with a knife, she kneed him in the stomach, and threw him towards a headstone. After hitting the headstone, and falling to the ground, there was a noticeable amount of blood on the stone. Laura stood up straight, and noticed that James and Gordon were watching what she had just done. She flashed them a smile, and gave them a wink. As she looked at them, she noticed a look of shock on James's face. She turned around to see another Yakuza coming at her. Acting quickly, she pulled out a handgun and fired a round into his chest. Lowering her gun, Laura walked over to Gordon and James. As they looked over at Jabo, they saw him holding up his Samurai sword. On closer examination, they noticed blood dripping off it. Behind Jabo, they saw the beheaded bodies of the final two Yakuza members. The group all joined up together, they walked over to Ryohei.
"That it?" asked Jabo, holding his Samurai sword at his side.
"No," said Ryohei "but aren't you forgetting something?"
"What do you?...oh shit!" said Jabo "AYA!"
"She's right here!" said Ryohei, as he snapped his fingers. Yakuza came out of the fog, creating a circle around them. One of the ones closest to Ryohei, held Aya with a gun to her head.
"Ah fuck!" said James, as he looked over at Jabo. "What the hell did you get us into?"
"I'll explain later." said Jabo, as he held up the Samurai sword, a serious look on his face. From out of nowhere, one of the Yakuza's from the circle came running at Jabo. Jabo made a side swipe with the sword, causing blood to gush from the Yakuza's chest, as he fell to the ground. As the Yakuza fell to the ground, this caused the others to start running towards the group.
"Hope you're all well loaded" Jabo said to the group. "Looks like we got our work cut out for us!"
***
Several clip changes later, almost all the Yakuza's had been killed, only a few remained. As Gordon stood up from choking the life from one, another came running at him. As he ran at Gordon with a knife in hand, Gordon grabbed him and lifted him up in the air. Throwing him, the Yakuza's body hit, and broke a headstone. Gordon walked up to, and looked down at the guy lying on the ground. The man began pleading for Gordon not to kill him. As Gordon did not know any Japanese, he didn't know what the guy was saying. Gordon picked up the broken headstone, and held it over his head. With all the force he could, Gordon brought the stone down on the Yakuza's head. As it connected, Gordon could hear the cracking sound of the skull. He lifted the
headstone, to see the Yakuza with blood and brain matter seeping out the back of his head. He looked over at James and Laura, who were standing side by side over two dead Yakuza soldiers.
"We make a pretty good team!" said James, with a smile on his face.
"Yeah," laughed Laura "when you're not trying to grab my ass!"
"Hey!" said James, a serious tone in his voice "I've been trying to cut down." They looked over at Jabo, who was standing in front of the final Yakuza soldier.
"LET HER GO!" yelled Jabo, as he held up his handgun.
"Never!" said the Yakuza soldier "You take one step closer, and she gets slit." Jabo kept his handgun aimed at the Yakuza, his finger ready to pull the trigger.
"Put the gun down!" demanded the Yakuza. "If you don't, I kill her!"
Jabo held the gun up for a minute more, before lowering it to his side, and placing it on the ground.
"Now!" demanded the Yakuza "Kick it over here!" Jabo made eye contact with Aya, and they stared at each other. As Aya looked, she saw Jabo give a quick nod with his head. Placing his foot under the gun, he lifted it, causing the gun to fly towards the Yakuza. Acting quickly, Aya caught it, pointed it behind her, and pulled the trigger. She could feel blood spray onto her hair, as the Yakuza fell to the ground. She quickly dropped the gun, and began running towards Jabo. Aya was almost there, when she felt an arm wrap around her neck.
"Going somewhere my dear girl?" asked Ryohei, an evil smile on his face.
"Let her go!" demanded Jabo, as he pulled a handgun out of his other shoulder holster.
"I don't think so!" said Ryohei "I won't be satisfied until everyone close to you is dead, that will make your death much more satisfying!"
"That's a weak move" said Jabo. "But guess the saying's true, like father like son!"
"You insolent maggot!" said Ryohei, as he threw Aya to the side, and pulled out a sword. Jabo watched as Aya ran towards the group, he then turned his attention back to Ryohei. He watched as Ryohei got into a battle stance, and began running towards him. The clanging of swords could be heard through the cemetery, as Jabo and Ryohei fought.
***
Jabo could feel himself getting tired from the fighting. Jabo made a badly timed move, and felt Ryohei's sword cut into his side. He dropped his Samurai sword, and fell to the ground gripping his wound.
"Typical!" said Ryohei, as he walked over to Jabo. "All that fighting for nothing, you're even more pathetic then your father in law!" Ryohei then began to laugh "Probably more of a fight then that whore wife of yours though!" As he looked down at Jabo, he saw the blade of the sword go into
his neck. Ryohei began making gurgling sounds, as he fell to his knees, a puddle of blood forming around him. Jabo stood up, still holding his wound, and pulled the sword from Ryohei's neck. He made his way over to the group, flashed a smile, then fell to his knees. James and Gordon ran over to
him, and each put one of his hands over their shoulder. Aya began speaking to them, and even though they couldn't understand what she saw saying, they knew what she meant.
***
Everyone having gotten fixed up, went back to the cemetery. Once again, the group stood to the side, as Jabo and Aya stood in front of Himiko's headstone. After a few minutes of silence, Aya looked over at Jabo.
"Well," said Aya "I guess you're gonna be getting ready to go."
"Yeah," said Jabo "we just had to do this right first."
"Well," said Aya "don't be a stranger, visit again sometime, hopefully under happier circumstances!"
"Hope so!" said Jabo with a smile. "I'll be sure to come down again sometime!"
"You better!" said Aya with a smile, as she wrapped her arms around Jabo. The group watched as Aya walked out of the cemetery. Meanwhile, Jabo was still standing in front of the headstone. From out of his pocket, he pulled out the ring box.
"You ready to go Jabo?" asked Gordon.
"Be there in a sec G!" said Jabo, as he knelt down in front of the headstone. Opening the box, he kissed each of the rings, as he placed them down beside each other on the headstone. As he stood up, he felt someone standing beside him. He looked to his side, to see Laura, a smile on her
face.
"You okay?" asked Laura.
"Yeah!" said Jabo "I am!" He then looked at Laura, and moved his lips towards hers. As their lips locked, Laura placed her arms around Jabo.
