I look at them through narrowed eyes They stair right back at me Wondering exactly why I do the things I do What has supposedly happened to me.

Now I am very different from what I used to be I am now the one they don't understand And as long as I am different the one they don't want to see

I am berated for doing certain things For confronting those who I have an issue with And for saying what I feel

So I retreat from them And they try to call me back But only as long as I can be What they want and expect me to be And only see what they want me to see. Otherwise, they simply ignore me.
