He watched in the shadows as this beauty slept.
He watched her breathe as he stood stiff.
Feeling the heat of this radiant beast
Her scrambled mind became his pleasing feast.
Gazing upon perfection, he could only weep.
He saw his reflection and sank so deep.
Skin soft as feathers, hair black as night
He wanted to take her, he knew she would not fight.
Rising from her slumber, she could only stare.
The life she was leading lately, just wasn't fair.
Sitting beside her, he smoothed back her hair.
Closing her eyes, she waited for the pain to end
But it did not come and she still could breathe
Her silent intruder had taken his leave.
