You Can’t Take What’s Mine

You took my heart,

Into your petite fingers

A delicate perfume

Intoxicating allure.

Your nervous eyes

Catch mine, practised

Unsurely – you fall into me.

Scented dark hair

Guarding your shoulders

Part with the ocean breeze –

Twilight upon the scarlet sky

Crystal tears hidden within

Innocent soul – I cry to thee.

I can never be yours,

I watch the train depart.

I took your heart

Incessant beating,

Braking down barriers.

My conscience weary

Emotion rampant,

Hesitantly I take you.

Dark brown hair,

My untamed heart

Parts with the ocean breeze.

Darkness hidden from the midnight sky

I cry to thee and wish if only

I could hold within my arms once more

This true and childlike love;

Though inevitably I must take my leave.

Soul almighty spirit

I hope to thee and wish if only

I cannot be with this one child

Then always shall I carry

An aspect of my love – always.

The truth is known,

though cannot be accepted.

You can never be mine

I watch the train depart

My heart is two,

Angels, I call upon thou

Help make it one.

Help make it one.

Help make me –

One.
