Everyone wants what they cannot have
Everyone cherishes their dreams
Always clinging to what they cannot get
Like me with you, it seems

Why do you chase her,
Just to be pushed away?
Why do you love her,
If she doesn't listen to what you say?

I'm standing here before you
Trying to make you see
What is it that you've found in her
That you cannot see in me?

There's few differences between us
In the things that matter most
But it is her body, I think
That your heart would love to boast

My love is yours for the taking
And it shall never lack
I'll never do as she's done--
Steal your heart and give it, broken, back

I'll be here for you always
And perhaps a little more
For in my eyes, you are a god,
And I'll always you adore
