Part Ten

I don't know what I heard. I was pretty sure it was the door opening, though. I was tempted to turn off the shower water but instead I just listened. I was in the shower. After last night I was feeling much better and therefore ready for tonight. We're going to the Sydney Opera house to see a show or something. I don't know what.

At the time I was thinking all this I was listening. When I heard the "flush" sound I knew I should have turned off the water. The water came down cold. I yelped and jumped out of the shower and saw David. I screamed while he looked shocked and then he started to look me up and down (sheesh, boys!) I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself. David gave me a grin and walked out of the bathroom. I locked the door and quickly got dressed. When I went outside into the living area everybody saw me and started laughing. I turned red. David then pulled me down onto the couch he was on and put his arm around me. I saw Beth shoot me the evil eye and I ignored it and said, "What are you guys doing?"

"Truth or Dare." Said Lisa.

"Ah, I'll watch." I replied. I sucked at the game. I know, how can you suck at Truth or Dare? Well, I don't like for people to know my secrets, I'm bad at doing dares (no courage) and I can't think up anything good to ask!

"Come on." David egged me on.

"I know, we'll play teams!" Beth said a little to happily. "Me and David, you and Jack, Tyler and Lisa." So, she wants to get close to David? Not going to happen!

"Never heard of people playing teams." I said. How would you do it?

"I don't want to play teams." David said.

"Let's play." Lisa, the impatient one, said. "David, Truth or Dare?"

"Hey! It's my turn to ask the question!" Squealed Beth. Lisa rolled her eyes.

"Fine, go."

"Um...David, Truth or Dare?"

"Wow, how original." Lisa muttered.

"Dare." He said. Oh, what would Beth do? She wouldn't make David and I kiss, would she But why would she want to do that? Unless she knew I never kissed before... Or maybe she knew I didn't like kissing in public. But how would she know that? One other possibility ran through my mind but she wouldn't dare to do it...

"Kiss me." So much for being discreet, Beth.

"No." David said flatly. I couldn't help myself, when David said that I smiled. He smiled back at me and turned back to Beth. "I have a girlfriend, incase you didn't know." Beth looked mad. Really mad. Like she wouldn't mind killing me just then mad. She stormed out of the room. Drama Queen.

After Beth’s little episode we decided to watch TV for most of the day. Lisa and I started getting ready at six. The show started at seven. We were going to see a music show. Surprisingly, we had been sent some dresses. They were both similar dresses, one black on red. Mine, the black one, was a shimmer material. The straps connected at my neck and it was floor length. Lisa’s was a simple spaghetti strap dress but she had more poof at the bottom. Lisa also put my brown hair into a fancy do. I thought I looked alright. David, apparently thought so too because he never seemed to stop looking at me. We all left in a hired car. Beth was, as usual, over done. Her clothes were revealing, her make up heavy and he hair was supposed to look good but it looked terrible. It looked like she had just woken up and put make up on in the dark.

We reached the Opera House without any major incidents (Beth tried to insult the way I looked but I ignored her and David put his arm around me.) He looked great all dressed up. We entered the Opera House and we soon found ourselves seated and watching the stage. I didn't remember much. I was concentrating on David’s hand in mine.

I'm back from Normandy!! Well, it's short but it's an update! Gotta be quick, it's late!
