But that's not what you're here for, right? Ok then, on to some more promising methods.
Method 2: Affirmation This method actually is (you'll laugh!) from the Dilbert book "Dilbert's Future". The book's funny the first two thirds while the last chapter is some really serious writing about having a successfull life.
And this is the method called "Affirmation": You pack your goal into a single sentence, but with a special case. If you want to become famous singer, you'd write: "I, John Blow, will become a famous piano player." IMPORTANT: Don't use a sentence like "I, John Blow WANT to become a famous piano player". Valid wishes are "I, Marlboro Joe, will stop smoking cigarettes." or, even better, "I, Anonymous Man, will be able to shapeshift into a wolf" (Nice one, eh?). Ok, so now you've got your goal in a sentence. You can, of course, have several wishes in one sentence or even several sentences, but I'd recommend a single wish for the beginning. Now to the hard part: Once every day you write that sentence fifteen times. Write onto a paper or type it into your computer, whatever fits you best. If you forget once or twice it doesn't matter, just try to do it as regulary as you can (If possible once a day). Write the sentence 15 times a day, every day, until your goal is achieved. Usually this should take 2 or 3 months. If you've tried for 6 months or longer I'd stop because then something's wrong. It is important that you believe into the method to have it succeed. Scott Adams (the author of Dilbert) wrote that he himself tried it several times and achieved every goal he wanted. For instance he wished to be a famous cartoonist, and he really is now. He wished a skin anomaly to be no maligant tumor, and it turned out to be harmless.
My Comment: The Method described herein actually worked for me on some other occasions, so I've decided to try it with my "special wish" This is a method I can recommend to everyone since it's easy, it's not much work and it's rather quick. I'll tell ya the results of my latest wish (guess what) in 2 or 3 months. Or I'm gonna to be sick to death in 6 months, burn my book of "Dilbert" and whack Scott Adams ;-)
Method 3: Lycanthropic Metamorphosis I got this text via email. The method's hard to follow and almost impossible to succeed. But read my comments on it first before trying at home!!
And this is the method called "How to become a Werewolf - The Fundamentals of Lycanthropic Metamorphisis; Their Principles and Application" by Anton Szandor LaVey (1930-1997):
----Cut------
Subject: Lycanthrophic Metamorphosis
Anyone is a potential werewolf. Under emotional stress civilized human qualities regress to basic animal reaction, and a threshold of potential physical change is reached.
Temperament: People who normally behave in a coarse and boorish manner would be thought to be bordering on an animal state, hence making a complete transition effortless. This is a fallacy, for churls consider themselves as humans the highest and most noble form of life. They are almost animals all of the time, so they dare not go "over the brink," for that would be abhorrent.
One who has only risen to the curbstone dares not return to the gutter. Only the higher man can metamorphose, as his ego will allow him to go all the way. He knows he is circumspect and cultured the greater part of his life. So transition to animalism can be entertained without compunction. Manifestations of this phenomena are abundant. The most polished individuals become the most degraded when the proper oppertunity presents itself. There is no drunk quite so sloppy as a rich drunk. Analogies of such polarities are endless: drunk as a lord, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Count Dracula, Jack London, ect. In virtually every literary, stage or motion picture treatment, the lycanthrope in his normal state depicted as a human of warmth, understanding, sensitivity and intelligence.
The three principal emotions of sex, sentiment and wonder may be considered as triggering mechanisms, as will be shown by the following formula by which one can effect the change from man to beast....
----Cut------
Part 2 ----Cut------ Their Principles and Application Enviroment: Everyone at some time or other wandered into an area of such foreboding that it is felt that someone or something is lurking in the shadows, watching, ready to spring and devour. Perhaps it was a deserted house, perhaps a lonely path through the trees, possibly an abandoned quarry. In many cases it is known or discovered that such areas have witnessed death of an unexpected or unusual nature, or perhaps mayhem, rape, or other violence. All actions involving intense or inscresed production of adrenaline on the part of either victim or perpetrator(lust, terror, aggression, defense, ect..) is followed by destumescence in the form of varying degrees of receptivity(shock, total submission, unconciousness, death, ect..)
The polarity that such an atmosphere has undergone can be likened to an area where heavy concentrations of electricity have accumulated and discharged repeatedly, thereby recycling the ionization of the atmosphere in a chaotic and disturbing manner. The initial charge and attraction of such an area proceeds from its spatial and geometric pattern. This can be likened to an existing feeding trough to which animals come from miles around and dine on the carcasses of their predecessors.
The sado-masochistic dichotomy, with its needs for expression, keeps such an area well-stocked with both hunters and hunted. The hunted are drawn to such a spot because of the frightening yet submissive thrill obtained from the enviroment. Predators then come forth, drawn by the ideal hunting conditions and abundance of game. Often, however, the hunters have not originally entered the preserve as hunetrs, but as fear-inspired searchers after thrills.
If this appears far-fetched, consider a phenomenon common to children on Halloween or on any other night where the setting is right. The child deliberately goes out expecting to be scared, suceeds in being scared, then considers how much fun it might be to scare others, once he has been purged of his fear-needs. He then becomes the hunter and the next child that comes along to his quarry. The entire phenomenon is akin to recognized psychological manifestation of those who outwardly fear a situation while at the same time doing all in their power to encourage its occurence.
Preparation: This childrens Halloween game gives us the clue to the role change necessary in lychanthropic metamorphisis. Briefly, it is thus: Enter the area you know to be trauma-producing with the fullest intention of being frightened. Allow yourself to be frightened. If necessary wear articles of clothing conductive to the most submissive or vulnerable image. "Accidental" victims are always thus attired. Get the feel of the place as a vicitm, allowing yourself to be frightened as much as you can. If you can supplement your fear with a sexually stimulating feeling, so much the better. Allow yourself to virtually shake apart the fear and if possible attain an orgasm by whatever means may be necessary, for this will make your subsequent lycanthropic changeover easier.
After you have released all fear and fled the scene of your terror/ecstacy, go home and ruminate what you felt. You will soon discover that a sort of magnetic pull will manifest itself, beckoning you back to the blighted spot. This uneasy attraction will increase with each succeeding day, ideally bordering on compulsion. When you find yourself unable to resist the temptation to return to your danger spot, repeat the first incident in much the same manner. You will find the second foray into the area even more profound than the first, due to the anxiety and anticipation that has developed over the past few days.
In the truest sense, you have been preforming a ritual of sending forth your energy into a living, breathing, enviroment. That enviroment, because, of continual taxation upon its vitality, acts as a vampire, absorbing energy from those it attracts and, once having attracted, contagiously ensnares for future sustenance. Wilhelm Reich called such areas DOR, indicating a persistent starvation of orgone or enervation of the atmosphere. Such areas are atmospherically hungry and in their bareness cry out to be fed. All alleged haunted house and terror spots are reinforced by the accumulation of energy supplied to them by the anxieties of occupants and anticipation of visitors return, i.e., the obssesive thoughts of those who have been affected.
The second time you enter your chosen area, you may not be able to spend as much time as the first, owing to your increased fear and subsequent need to quickly exercise/exorcise it and remove yourself. At this point you are prepared for the metamorphosis - unless you find the second time a "Charm," and crave to entertain your fears to greater and more ecstatic heights, in which case you either haven't scared yourself enough, or else there is little chance for role-change. In other words, before you can become the hunter, you must first have aroused and then exorcised the nedd to be a victim. If you are a habitual "Victim" it is wise to proceed with caution. Your desire to be frightened and its ensuing manifestations could impel you into a stiuation whereby you could be severlyinjured or killed. If however, you are able to meet your fright-needs and exorcise them, then you are ready for the next step...
----Cut------ Part 3:
----Cut------
Metamorphosis: Attire yourself in a manner conductive to the change that is to be effected. Legends of Berserkers donning the skins of wolves and bears hold substantial meaning, in view of the importance of costume in ritual. Dress in the most stereotyped, "Corny" manner, as the second skin that you wear is a potent element in complete transmogrification. This is hermetic or sympathetic magic exemplified(as above, so below). If you wear the mask of a wolf or the skin of a beast, it is preferable if it is not genuine, as you can better infuse a facsmile of the chosen animal with your own personality, while drawing from the known attributes of the species represented. The skin or mask will serve as a catalyst, a blue print, for waht you will become as you merge with it.
Enter the blighted area with eager anticipation. When you approach the spots where you would have previously been the most frightened, allow yourself to revel in the thought of how terrifying it would be to another if they were to feel the same fear that you had felt, plus the added terror with an actual manifestation of an unfarmiliar and grotesque creature. In short, it is now your role to contribute to the fearsomeness of the place.
The stage has been set and all necessary components have been activated. You have experienced intense fear, now it is your turn to manifest intense fearsomeness in the form of bestiality. Aloow yourself to slouch, almost dropping down to all fours at times. Children are quite proficient in their in their approximations of animals. Remember when? You've also romped on all-fours with a dog or cat, no doubt. Did you ever consider the implications?
Sniff the air, savoring it and the smells of the enviroment in which you stand. If there are trees around get close to them, youching them, pawing them, climbing and shaking them. Do everything possible to emulate an animal. If you are in a building urinate against the wall or on the floor. Remember, wild creatures are not housebroken! Snort, snarl, roar, grunt - make all the unsavory sounds you want.
As you progressively become more imbued with the sensation of being an animal, you will actually feel certain areas of your body responding in a manner alien to the human anatomy. Your legs will become haunches. Your amrs will become forelimbs for claws or paws that crave to grasp at the nearest thing. Your countenance will change. Your facial muscles will began to twitch in bestial grimaces. All of your senses will besome more acute. You will feel the need to urinate more frequently. You will become fascinated with the moon, especially if it is full. If you are indoors, you will seek to explore behind things, into cracks, below boards. You will feel a desire to snuffle into closed areas, burrowing your head and body.
If you feel sexual desire, it will be in a rapacious manner, and if you should percieve another person who might not normally appear sexually to you, the nature of your transformation will make up for their lacking attributes. The impulse to attack will be present, but your higher mind must refrain, taking over and holding you in your spot, while still allowing you to sufficient impetus to release yourself. This is the stage of transformation where control is essential, unless one is with a willing partner who can enter the game as the hunted and revel in their roles. If this is the case, then complete sexual assualt can be manifested. If not sufficient restraint to attain sexual release without an attack on the "Victim" must be exercised.
At the moment of orgasm, a complete and irrevocable encompassing of the animal within must occur, with whatever abandon to this level may ensue. It is at this tune that the change will take place, and if one should be unfortunate(or fortunate?) enough to witness your metamorhposis, you may be assured they will never forget it.
This entire principle, carried out in a ritualistic excercise between precast hunter and hunted is, of course, a basis of such children's games as hide and seek, where one child revels in being frigthened while the other delights in terrifying, often with both roles interchanged within a single episode of the game. As children are naturally closer to an animal state, so they are well qualified to teach us means by which we might bring ourselves closer. It is the transitional nature of children that makes them ideal teachers.
Once you transformation has been effected(remember, the most profound manifestation can only occur with sufficient build up), allow yourself to "come down" having retreated if necessary to a place where you can unconcernedly drop to te ground or floor. If you have done your exercise well, you should, upon returning to your normal state, feel the desire to partake of nourishment.
The tremendous build-up and discharge of energy in reaching this state you will have consumed a vast amount of calories. So the obvious epilogue to your ritual, and completion of the animal cycle, is to eat your fill and go to sleep. ----Cut------
My Comment:
This is one of the most dangerous AND weird things I've ever read. Not only is this opinion about werewolves bestialic, to say the least. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO TRY THIS ON YOURSELF. It is obvious that the implications of such actions go much further, they aren't really intended to achieve your goal, but someone others. This complete loss of self-control is something totally unassociated to animals, wolves and even werewolves. Humans and animals need this self control to react determined, reasonable. I've put it here because else it'd be censorship. I've met wolves and I know that the behaviour portraited herein hasn't got much to do with them or P/M/Whatever-shifting.
Method 4: Light Magic Some time ago I asked TUP if he knew of any other methods. This is what he came up with:
Part 1
The first part is more of a preparation. The idea behind this is that you get to posess your own body. For this method to work, posessing and accepting your current body is required in order to start a change.
Get a mirror (big enough so that you can comfortably view your head) into your room. Wait until the sun's gone. Sunlight might destroy the magick in it's early stages, however it will get stronger over time. Make enough artificial light for you to see yourself in the mirror. Now sit comfortably and watch your face in the mirror, capture as many details as possible. Trace the contours of the eyes, nose, ears etc. Pay special attention to the eyes, notice their humanity. IMPORTANT: Try to forget about your wish to become a wolf (or something else). Think about as a preparation prior to transformation, but do not commit yourself to a specific form. You don't have to do this for long, but do it concentrated and seriously. Feel your body (I mean the real body and NOT the one in the mirror!), accept it, *possess* it. View yourself as human not as wolf (or whatever), be it repulsive or not. Your body will then be able to collect certain energies. Maybe your dreams will change, maybe not. Repeat this for 3 to 5 days, on the same time of day if possible. Switch to Part 2 when you thing you're ready.
Part 2
Return the mirror to where it belongs, you don't need it anymore. In Part one, you've seen yourself as human. Now you won't see yourself anymore because you'll concentrate on the being you want to become.
Sit down, relax and imagine the wolf (or whatever). Try to imagine the wolf as detailed as possible. He or she should look the same everytime, so imagine you personal superduper-favourite wolf. Let him run through forests, over hills, etc. The wolf should get more and more detailed every time you do it. But DON'T "summon" the wolf, DON'T see him as some kind of imaginary friend. Ever watched one of those BBC-documentations? It should look just like that, watch the details of your imaginary creature. After some days of this, try to imagine the smells of your imagination. It's much like if you see a hamburger on TV and could almost smell/taste it. The same applies here. And after another few days try to feel his fur. Don't try to rush things because it would lead to disappointment. Repeat for approx. 1-2 weeks.
Part 3
Well, the last part really isn't that spectacular: Just continue to imagine the wolf running through the forest (or whatever you want him to do) but now give him your name. It can be your real name, or any other name you're identifying with. Sounds odd, I know. While you continue to watch him just keep in mind that his name is the same as yours. If your name is Jarod, the wolf's name is also Jarod. More to come...
My Comment: Maybe this can only cause M-Shifting, I don't know. But since it's not dangerous (at least not physically) I recommend you to try this method. I'm going to ask TUP more about the details, though.
Method 5: Prophetic Dream Tea Ok, so it's got something to so with dreams... don't expect physical-whatever from this tea. It is merely a way to induce certain dreams. This is a recipe I got from SnowWolf on the PShift mailinglist. The recipe actually came from "Everyday Magic, by Dorothy Morrison"
Here's the recipe for prophetic dream tea.
1 tsp chamomile 2 tsp rose petals .5 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp peppermint 1 tsp mugwort WARNING: EXCESSIVE USE OF MUGWORT COULD BE POISONOUS!! DRINK AT YOUR OWN RISK! Mix the ingredients well. Use one tsp of tea for every cup of boiling water. As the tea steeps, chant:
-- Tea of vision, dreaming tea, As I sip you, bring to me An altered state conductive to Psychic dreams. And when I'm through, Rock me gently into sleep And bring the answers that I need. --
Sweeten with honey, if desired. Drink the tea thirty minutes before going to bed. Store the tea in a plastic bag with a zipper closure or in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.
My Comment: BE CAREFUL with mugwort! I haven't tried it but the ingredients sure promise exciting nights. You may want to burn herbs as incense (on a charcoal disc or in a Smudge pot) rather than actually drinking them.
Method 6: Heavy Magic Here's something sent to me by Tim Welsh. It sounds like medieval magic to me. Anyway, here goes...
1) Go to a remote place away from man on a New Moon 2) Choose a level piece of ground 3) At midnight, mark a circle of no less than seven feet in radius 4) Within this circle, from the same centre make another circle of no less than three feet 5) In the inner circle, kindle a fire, and over the fire place an iron tripod containing an iron vessel of water. 6) As soon as the water begins to boil, you must throw into the water three handfuls of any three of the following substances:
- Asafoetida - Parsley - Opium - Hemlock - Henbane - Saffron - Aloe - Poppy-seed - Solanum
7) Chant these words (what's in between the and the are actions):
"Spirits from the deep Who never sleep, Be kind to me
"Spirits from the grave Without a soul to save, Be kind to me
"Spirits of the trees That grow upon the leas, Be kind to me
"Spirits of the air Foul and black, not fair, Be kind to me
"Water spirits hateful, To ships and bathers fateful, Be kind to me
"Spirit of the earthbound dead That glide with noiseless tread, Be kind to me
"Spirits of heat and fire Destructive in your ire, Be kind to me
"Spirits of cold and ice Patrons of crime and vice, Be kind to me
"Wolves, vampires, satyrs, ghosts! Elect of all the devilish hosts! I pray you send hither, Send hither, send hither That great grey shape that makes men shiver! Shiver, shiver, shiver! Come! Come! Come!
8) You then take off your vest and shirt and smear your body with the fat of some newly killed animal, preferably a cat, mixed with aniseed, camphor, and opium. 9) Then bind around your loins a girdle made of a wolf's skin 10) Kneel down within the circumference of the first circle 11) Wait for the fire to burn blue 12) If it does, congratulations and may God have mercy upon your soul
My Comment: I know that some people are desperate enough to do this. And if I catch you killing a wolf and making a girdle out of his fur, I'll kill YOU, I promise.
Method 7: Hypnosis This method isn't tailored to shifting or werewolves, but I can assure you that the results are *unbelievable*. If you're looking for a method with guaranteed effects, try it.
The principal human problem is the INNER DIALOGUE. The first lesson will teach how to overcome this problem. The brain is the main organ of any human body, the basic part of it is the corrector that controls and co-ordinates the work of the brain and its parts. An individual is controlled by means of the corrector (If you put your palm on the forehead the corrector will be 3-5 cm. under it).
The main task of the first lesson is to learn how to control the brain and the corrector in particular. You will train to cool the corrector (you should know how to relax and master a self-hypnosis technique as all the methods suppose you are able to do it {I have found a page for those who cannot}). In the process of relaxation you should imagine that the temperature of the corrector is lower than the temperature of the rest part of the brain (it leads to the stricture of the corrector's blood-vessels that requires for the start). After you do it, it will seem that you grew dull (it is difficult to describe this state of mind with any other word). You will notice fewer thoughts and emotions in your head. You have to do this exercise every day. The first few days you will have to check the time. It should not exceed 10-15 minutes because you must not stay long in this state.
There are two primary objectives in overcoming the inner dialogue: the first one is to make yourself not to come back to your previous deeds and moves playing them in your head again and again, thinking: Everything would be in a different way if I did this or that, the second one is not to utter your thoughts (Neither your tongue, nor your vocal cords should work in case we do not speak).
All primary human problems arise from the complexes, practising the technique you will have fewer of them.
The next objective is to make the first steps in learning how to affect the people (further "objects"). As I have already said, complexes are the primary problems of all the objects, so one can affect the objects through their complexes (By and by you will learn to find them, but we need not do this in the beginning of our studies).
The first and the simplest exercise: you should learn to heat and to cool your hand. Relax, imagine this is not your hand, try to feel it, imagine it lives its own separate life, then imagine your hand getting hot or cold. Do not worry if something does not come, just train.
For example, I am going to tell you how I managed to do it in the beginning of my own way: I sat in an armchair, relaxed (did not fall into trance, just relaxed), then put my hand on the elbow-rest and watched it, after that I imagined my hand living its own separate life (it may seem it has grown cold).
You should put away the perception of your hand. You should give a command to your brain that this part of the body is not under control any more, tell your brain that there are no nerves between it and the hand. Then try to move your fingers, they should not move. After that imagine that your hand is heating and you will feel it heating.
Later on you have to identify your hand with any other (close in size) part of the object's body, put away the perception of your hand and after that feel your hand and the object's part as one solid thing, afterwards begin to heat or to cool the hand, the objects part will start heating or cooling accordingly. This is what we needed.
Examples of use: (As a rule, all the examples I give are associated with the influence on the opposite sex, as it is easy and the result is seen almost at once. In principle, one can begin with curing, in this case sore organs should be heated or cooled).
Example: you want to draw the object's attention (sexual plan is the simplest, so better when the object's and the operator's sex is different, as it is the feature of the brain), you identify your hand with the object's sexual organs, heat the hand, in the same time blood springs to the object's sexual organs, the object starts experiencing a sort of sexual excitement, and, it is the most interesting thing, the object thinks of you in this moment (may be subconsciously). In the same way one can slow an object's work for a while cooling his corrector, but it cannot be done often (1 - 2 times are advisable) otherwise this object will stop responding to your influence.
If you want your chief treat you positively, you should affect his (her) sexual organs only in his (her) presence or when he (she) looks at you. In realisation of this technique no borders (distance, walls etc.) matter, one can work on the object even on the opposite side of the Earth.
The second very significant topic is senses (feelings). In order to pass to the next topic you should learn the concept of absolute zero (a/z). In the course of our studies (lesson 1) we learned not to think, the next stage - to learn not to feel. In principal it is just the same, the difference is that in the first lesson we calmed thoughts, now we are going to calm feelings.
You should relax and feel the ENTIRE body neutral to the environment and to you (as if each cell of your body lives its own separate life, the same as it was with the hand). Absolute zero is a blend of not to think plus not to feel. You must not stay in this state for a long time as it is a narcotic for the brain and it can capture you so that you will not need any further studies.
The next stage is the feelings' imposition. You should come into the state of absolute zero, then remember any state of your mind (love, hate, joy, grief, attraction etc.) and impose this feeling on absolute zero.
Example of use: You see an object, being in the state of a/z you go into this object (that means you couple your body and feelings with the object's body and feelings), now you feel everything the object feels (as if your body becomes the object's body). After that if you remember any feeling and impose it on the object (as on yourself), it will stay on the object after you leave. Now you can change your state, while the object cannot.
My Comment: The possibilities are endless. My suggestion that this is *very* recommended at all tasks which require fast reflexes, such as flying, driving, playing computer games or even fighting. If trained properly, this method can truly unleash powers unknown to man. Precaution is advised. If you're patient and you know what you want, this is the way to go.

Magic
Black magic and witchcraft
It was said that certain sorcerers and witches learned from Satan how to transform themselves into animal guise such as serpents, leopards, panthers, jackals, bears, coyotes, owls, foxes and other feared creatures. A sorcerer will do this to do evil to or kill his enemy. In South America sorcerers are said to kill and drink the blood of their enemies. Livonians said witches routinely transformed themselves into wolves by passing through a certain magic pool, another instance of baptismal rebirth in animal form.
Pact with the devil
It is said that humans who enter into a pact with the Devil himself do so out of desperation and often, in an effort to seek revenge for the death of a loved one. In popular European superstition, the Devil is said to appear in the form of a coachman whose carriage is drawn by black steeds. The Devil offers a potion that provides the strength needed to carry out the revenge, in exchange for the person's soul. The potion is often in the form of a vial, the contents of which are applied to the human skin under the light of a full moon. The transformation into a werewolf will then begin immediately and the human has been completely turned into a werewolf forever
Curse
Sometimes, the condition of werewolf is the result of a spell cast by a magician (St. Patrick of Ireland changed Veretius, King of Wales, into a wolf).
Incantations
Note that these incantations are only supplied as examples to support the persistence of the Myth and its relationship with magical practices. They are known ineffective without the ointments, magic salves and other parts of the rituals.
Sacharow quoted an old Russian charm, to be spoken by one who wished to invoke the Moon-goddess and become a werewolf:
"On the sea, on the ocean, on the island, on Bujan, on the empty pasture gleams the moon, on an ashstock lying in a green wood, in a gloomy vale. Toward the stock wandereth a shaggy wolf, horned cattle seeking for his sharp white fangs; but the wolf enters not the forest, but the wolf dives not into the shadowy vale. Moon, moon, gold-horned moon, check the flights of bullets, blunt the hunters' knifes, break the shepherds' cudgels, cast wild fear upon all cattle, on men, on all creeping things, that they may not catch the gray wolf, that they may not rend his warm skin! My word is binding, more binding than sleep, more binding than the promise of a hero."
Other traditional incantations
"Spirits from the deep, who never sleep, be kind to me.
Spirits from the grave, without a soul to save , be kind to me.
Spirits of the trees, that grow upon the leas, be kind to me.
Spirits of the air, foul and black, not fair, be kind to me.
Spirits of the dead, that glide with noiseless tread, be kind to me
Spirits of heat and fire, destruction in your ire, be kind to me.
Spirits of cold and ice, phantoms of crime and vice, be kind to me.
Wolves, Vampires, Satyrs, Ghosts!
Elect of all the devilish hosts!
I pray you send hither, send hither, send hither
The great grey shape that makes men shiver!
Shiver, shiver, shiver!
Come, come, come!"
"Hail, Hail, Hail, great wolf spirit, Hail!
A boon I ask thee, mighty shade.
Within this circle I have made.
Make me a werewolf strong and bold.
The terror alike of young and old.
Grant me a figure tall and spare;
The speed of the elk, the claws of the bear;
The poison of snakes, the wit of the fox;
The stealth of the wolf, the strength of the ox;
The jaws of the tiger, the teeth of the shark;
The eyes of a cat that sees in the dark;
Make me climb like a monkey, scent like a dog;
Swim like a fish, and eat like a hog.
Haste, Haste, Haste, lonely spirit, Haste!
Here, wan and drear, magic spell making,
Findest thou me - shaking, quaking.
Softly fan me as I lie.
And thy mystic touch apply.
Touch apply, and I swear that when I die,
When I die, I will serve thee evermore,
Evermore, in grey wolf land, cold and raw."
"Make me a werewolf! Make me a xxx-eater!
Make me a werewolf! Make me a xxxxx-eater!
Make me a werewolf! Make me a xxxxx-eater!
I pine for blood! xxxxx blood!
Give it to me! Give it to me tonight!
Great Wolf Spirit! Give it to me, and heart, body, and soul, I am yours!"
"Come, spirit so powerful! come, spirit so dread.
From the home of the werewolf, the home of the dead.
Come, Give me thy blessing! come, lend me thine ear!
Oh spirit of darkness! oh spirit so drear!
Come, mighty phantom! come, great Unknown!
Come from thy dwelling so gloomy and lone.
Come, I beseech thee; depart from thy lair.
And body and soul shall be thine, I declare.
Haste, Haste, Haste, horrid spirit, Haste!
Speed, Speed, Speed, scaring spirit, speed!
Fast, Fast, Fast, fateful spirit, fast!"
"I (insert name) offer to thee, Great spirit of the Unknown, this night of (insert date) my body and soul, on condition that thou grantest me, from this night to the hour of my death, the power of metamorphosing, nocturnally, into a wolf. I beg, I pray, I implore thee-Thee, unparalleled Phantom of Darkness, to make me a werewolf, a werewolf"!
"Come, oh Come!"
"Tis night! Tis night! and the moon shines white over pine and snow capped hill. The shadows stray through burn and brae and dance in the sparkling rill."
Tis night! Tis night! and the devils light casts glimmering beams around. The maras dance, the nisses prance on the flower enameled ground."
Tis night! Tis night! and the the werewolf's might makes man and nature shiver.
Yet its fierce grey head and stealthy tread are nought to thee, oh river!
River, River, River
Oh water strong, that swirls along I prithee a werewolf make me.
Of all things dear, my soul, I swear, In death shall not forsake thee."
The magic salve
The "magic salve" that was used by humans to transform into wolves was a strong hallucinogenic. When rubbed over the body, it is absorbed into the bloodstream and causes effects similar to LSD. A person under the salve's effect could imagine that he was anything, or anyone. One reason that people during the Medieval Times imagined themselves as werewolves, as opposed to other things, is because of the mass hysteria over werewolves during this time.
One recipi includes the following ingredients :
¥ fat from disinterred children
¥ hemlock
¥ aconite
¥ poplar leaves
¥ soot or cowbane
¥ sweet flag
¥ cinquefoil
¥ bat's blood
¥ deadly nightshade
¥ oil
Other sources mentioned ingredients such as narcotics: Solanum somniferum , aconite, hyoscyamus, belladonna, opium, acorus vulgaris, sium. These were boiled down with oil, or the fat of little children who were murdered for that purpose. The blood of a bat was added, but its effects could have been nil. To these may have been added other foreign narcotics, the names of which have not transpired.
Apuleius "The Golden Ass"
"Fotis showed me a crack in the door, and bade me look through it, upon which I looked and saw Pamphile first divest herself of all her garments, and then, having unlocked a chest, take from it several little boxes, and open one of the latter, which contained a certain ointment. Rubbing this ointment a good while previously between the palms of her hands, she annointed her whole body, from the very nails of her toes to the hair on the crown of her head, and when she was annointed all over, she whispered many magic words to a lamp, as if she were talking to it. Then she began to move her arms, first with tremulous jerks, and afterwards by a gentle undulating motion, till a glittering, downy surface by degrees overspread her body, feathers and strong quills burst forth suddenly, her nose became a hard crooked beak, her toes changed to curved talons, and Pamphile was no longer Pamphile, but it was an owl I saw before me. And now, uttering a harsh, querulous scream, leaping from the ground by little and little, in order to try her powers, and presently poising herself aloft on her pinions, she stretched forth her wings on either side to their full extent, and flew straight away.
"Having now been actually a witness of the performance of the magical art, and of the metamorphosis of Pamphile, I remained for some time in a stupefied state of astonishment... At last, after I had rubbed my eyes some time, had recovered a little from the amazement and abstraction of mind, and begun to feel a consciousness of the reality of things about me, I took hold of the hand of Fotis and said, --'Sweet damsel, bring me, I beseech thee, a portion of the ointment with which thy mistress hath just now anointed, and when thou hast made me a bird, I will be thy slave, and even wait upon thee like a winged Cupid.' Accordingly she crept gently into the apartment, quickly returned with the box of ointment, hastily placed it in my hands, and then immediately departed.
"Elated to an extraordinary degree at the sight of the precious treasure, I kissed the box several times successively; and uttering repeated aspirations in hopes of a prosperous flight, I stripped off my clothes as quick as possible, dipped my fingers greedily into the box, and having thence extracted a good large lump of ointment, rubbed it all over my body and limbs. When I was thoroughly anointed, I swung my arms up and down, in imitation of the movement of a bird's pinions, and continued to do so little while, when instead of any perceptible token of feathers or wings making their appearance, my own thin skin, alas! grew into a hard leather hide, covered with bristly hair, my fingers and toes disappeared, the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet became four solid hoofs, and from the end of my spine a long tail projected. My face was enormous, my mouth wide, my nostrils gaping, my lips pendulous, and I had a pair of immoderately long, rough, hairy ears. In short, when I came to contemplate my transformation to its full extent, I found that, instead of a bird, I had become-- and ASS."
Lycanthropous Flowers
In the Balcanic Peninsula grows a flower that, people say, if eaten, transforms the eater into a werewolf. Lycanthropous flowers possess properties peculiar to themselves which are only discernible to those who are well acquainted with them. Their scent is described as faint and subtly suggestive of death, whilst their sap is rather offensively white and sticky. In appearance they are usually white and yellow marsh flower. They have to be plucked and wornafter at sunset when the moon is full.
The Magic Belt
Polish legend said a witch could transform a bride and groom into wolves by laying a girdle of human skin across the threshold at their wedding feast. Later they would receive dresses of fur and would regain their human shape at will.
Among Teutonic peoples, it was thought donning special girdles made of the pelt of a wolf or the skin of a hanged man would effect the change. In the Balkins, the magic came from drinking water from a beast's footprint, or from eating a beast's brain.
When tied around the body, a strip of leather made from wolf skin can turn a witch into a wolf. However, there is a way to destroy the belt's magic power. If one throws a knife or a piece of shiny steel over the werewolf, he will instantly be transformed into his true human form and stand there completely naked. It was called "making blank" the witch, the wolf, and so forth.
: "Der Deutsche Volks und Aberglaube der Gegenwart" (1925)
"People (men, women, even boys) change, mostly just for several hours, into wolves by wearing a wolfbelt on the naked body (sometimes also on clothes). [this belt is made of] wolf's leather or human skin, especially the skin of a hanged man, often adorned with the zodiac, and with seven tongues on the buckle [which must be put] into the ninth hole; if they want to return to their human form, they open the buckle."
Infection
One may become infected with lycanthropy by physical contact with a were-beast in human or bestial form. Some researchers believe that even the consumption of food prepared by a lycanthropist is enough to carry the infection.

Native American mythology
Native American mythology is quite interesting as the metamorphosis is not only viewed as curse but as a way to get closer to Nature and one's totemic animal. This method would also probably include those who gain such a spirit through meditation or dreams. This is the source for many "spiritual werewolves. Shamanic rituals are often complicated and secret depending on the tribes' own beliefs. It and can also be apply to other animals.
¥ Being called by the wolf spirit.
¥ Having a vision of the wolf spirit on a dream-quest

HOW TO BECOME A WEREWOLF
There has been desires and even fantasies among humans to become or live as an animal. The attraction to some has been the freedom to roam wild, while for others it is the power. In history, there are accounts about individuals claiming to taken on the form or the spirit of the wolf. The means of transformation differs and here is a listing of some methods used to become a werewolf.
Black magic
Sorcerers and witches learned from Satan how to transform themselves into animal through the use of magic. The creatures they could transfer into wolves, serpents, tigers other fearsome animals and by taken on the form one would have the power to track and destroy their enemies
Pact with the Devils
In some legends, individuals who were wronged, often the death of a loved one, would enter a pact with the Devil to seek revenge. In folklore, the demon would appear riding a carriage drawn by black steeds to the person who summoned him. The Prince of Darkness would offer a potion in exchange for the person's souls to have the power needed to carry out the revenge. The potion was in a vial put onto the skin in the light of the full moon. The person would then be able to transfer into a werewolf but be forever damned.
Incantations
In folklore, one can transfer into a werewolf through magical practices and rituals where incantations were performed with the use of the magic salve or ointments.
There is an old Russian charm spoken by one who wished to invoke the Moon-goddess to become a werewolf and goes as follows:
Another one is
"Spirits from the deep, who never sleep, be kind to me.
Grant me a figure tall and spare;
The speed of the elk, the claws of the bear;
The poison of snakes, the wit of the fox;
The stealth of the wolf, the strength of the ox;
The jaws of the tiger, the teeth of the shark;
The eyes of a cat that sees in the dark;
Make me climb like a monkey, scent like a dog;
Curse
In some legends, there are tales where individuals were cursed to become werewolves by a wizard, a witch or even a god as a punishment.
The Magic Belt
In Europe, there are folklore about individuals transferring into wolf by wearing the girdle or belt made from human skin of a hanged man or the pelt of a wolf. Anyone putting on the belt became a werewolf and returned to human form by opening the buckle. The belt's powers can be destroyed by throwing metal or a knife over the werewolf and the person will revert back to normal.
The Magic Salve
The "magic salve" used by humans to transform into werewolves was also a strong hallucinogenic. When applied to the skin, it is absorbed into the bloodstream having the same effects as LSD where a person imagine themselves as a wolf instead of becoming one.
The recipe included:
¥ fat from disinterred children
¥ hemlock
¥ aconite
¥ poplar leaves
¥ soot or cowbane
¥ sweet flag

Native Lore
Native American lore views becoming a wolf as a gift where the person takes on the form of their animal totem. In the shamanic rituals involved in summoning the spirit of the wolf to them in either a dream, vision or a quest. At time the spiritual journey manifests itself into a physical form where the person becomes the creature. There are a few legends where shamans have cursed individuals to become wolfs.
How to Become a Werewolf
You need not suffer from lycanthropy, the mental disease of werewolves, to become a wolfman. Below are some shortcuts to becoming a wolf.
Steps:
1. Sleep on the ground in an open field on a Friday night when the moon is full. Many Europeans who lived several centuries ago approved of this method.
2. Drink water from a wolf's footprint. Two hundred years ago, Balkan natives thought this act would surely help you grow hair and fangs.
3. Satisfy your thirst in certain magical bodies of water, although the whereabouts of these are unknown. If you find that discouraging, drink wherever wolf packs drink.
4. Transform yourself by eating a wolf's brains. Just follow the easy instructions listed in the Wicked Witch's Cookbook (author unknown).
5. Find a French priest and have him put a hex on you. Many incorrigibles were purportedly disciplined in this way in the centuries prior to the 1800s.
Steps:
1. Go on top of a hill where the full moon can shine upon you. Then at midnight, draw two circles on the ground: one 3 feet in diameter, surrounded by the second, which should be 7 feet in diameter.
2. Build a fire in the middle of the two circles and place a cauldron over it.
3. Add henbane, opium, hemlock, aconite, poplar leaves, soot and cooking oil to this steaming concoction.
4. If one or more of those magical ingredients can't be found at the grocery store, try mixing cowbane, sweet flag, cinquefoil, bat's blood and belladonna into the quagmire. Say a number of enigmatic incantations as the recipe boils.
5. Be creative, reciting things like, "Spirits of earthbound dead that glide with noiseless tread, be kind to me."
6. Remove your clothes and smear yourself from head to toe with the magic ointment. Make sure it's cooled.
7. Drape a wolf skin over your body, or maybe a wolf skin belt, three fingers wide. Kneel in the moonlight and come up with some more chants. Strike the ground with your head three times - and watch out for them silver bullets!
Tips:
Mix a little flower into the vat for thickening.

DICTIONARY DEFINITIONS
(In folklore and superstition) a human being that has changed or been changed into a wolf, or is capable of assuming the form of a wolf, while retaining human intelligence.
Lycanthropy:
Lycanthropy from Greek lykoi, "wolf" anthropos, "man" - a delusion that one has become a wolf. The assumption of the form and characteristics of a wolf held to be possible by witchcraft or magic
At the Center of Biomedical Research in Guadalajara, Mexico geneticist Dr. Luis Figuera is studying a Mexican family with a rare genetic mutation that causes fur like hair to grow all over their bodies. This werewolf disorder has mysterious resurfaced for the first time since the middle ages. The gene that causes the mutation lay dormant for centuries. It can be passed through either parent in the "X" chromosone. This is known as the "Werewolf Disorder".
In the Aceves family...32 members...all have this disease. They live in a mountain town named Zacatecas in Mexico. The hair covers much of their body...even in females. Some members of the family have more hair than others. One of them performs as a wolfman in a traveling circus. They are discriminated against by the local people.
Dr. Figuera may not be able to cure their affliction but he is hoping to isolate the gene and help others. He is also hoping to help others with hair loss.
The Ways of the Wolf: By Nate Wolfe
There are two categories of werewolf cases; 'false' or Lycanthropic Disorder cases and genuine werewolf cases.
LYCANTHROPIC DISORDER :
Lycanthropic Disorder - is a mental condition in which the subject (called a Lycanthrope) believes that he or she is a werewolf. The subject does not actually change shape, but is nevertheless capable of being as dangerous as an actual werewolf. Most cases of supposed werewolfry are really the works of Lycanthropic Disorder victims.
MAN TO BEAST:
In real werewolves a physical change to wolf form does occur. The change can be voluntary (at will), or can be forced by certain cycles of the moon and certain sounds (such as howling).
WEREWOLVES & IMMORTALITY:
Werewolves are immune from aging and from most physical diseases due to the constant regeneration of their physical tissue. They can, therefore, be virtually immortal. However, they can be killed by any wound that destroys the heart or the brain, or any form of death that causes brain or heart damage (such as hanging or other oxygen-deprivation methods).
THE MIND OF A WEREWOLF :
Though primarily a true wolf while in wolf form, there is some proof that the werewolf retains enough knowledge to assist his killing; recognition of victims, evation of traps, and human cunning have all been seen on werewolf cases.
BECOMING A WEREWOLF:
There are several ways to become a werewolf. They include being givin the power of shape shifting through sorcery, being cursed by someone who you have wronged in some way (called Lycaeonia curse), being bitten by a werewolf, and being born to a werewolf. In each case, the blood becomes tainted or cursed.
DAMNATION:
A person who becomes a werewolf against his will (birth, curse, or bite) is not completely damned until he tastes of human blood. Once he does, his soul is eternally damned and nothing may redeem him. Even without tasting of human blood, however, as long as the taint lays upon the immortal soul, it cannot enter Heaven, and will remain chained to the mortal plane upon death.
WEREWOLF PACKS:
Like real wolves, werewolves can live alone for many years, yet the instinct for a pack often leads them away from their secretive lifestyle, into revealing their nature to a priest or close associate, or converting another to werewolfry for companionship. This is when the otherwise cagey werewolf opens himself to dection! Werewolf packs cause immense destruction. A pack consists of one werewolf who became a werewolf through sorcery, birth, or curse - in other words, his is the original tainted blood. This werewolf is called the Alpha werewolf. The remaining werewolves in the pack are called Beta werewolves because they became werewolves through the bite of the Alpha and carry the Alpha's tainted blood.
ALPHA & BETA WEREWOLVES:
The relationship between Alpha and Beta werewolves is a complex one. Once a subject is bitten by a werewolf, his or her life and death are doomed to the werewolf curse. The victim does, however, have some hope - as long as they themselves do not taste of human blood, the curse is reversible. If the Alpha werewolf is killed - through some action of the Beta - the Beta's curse is broken. It is important to note that whether the Beta werewolf was bitten by the Alpha werewolf himself or by another Beta, it is the Alpha who must be destroyed - the source of the original tainted blood. It is also an interesting note that since Betas and Alphas share common blood, an Alpha cannot physically harm a Beta of his own bloodline by his own hans without inflicting the same injury upon himself. However, if a Beta is harmed or killed by another, it does not affect the Alpha.
SYMPTOMS OF WEREWOLFRY:
When hunting for a werewolf it is important to remember that your biggest clues will come through your suspects personalities. Becoming a werewolf is not transparent, no matter how the victim tries to hide it. The tainted, sub-human blood appearence. Therefore, look for symptoms in your human suspects that include increasing violence, increasing aggression, unprovoked rages, insomnia, restlessness, and other bizarre behavior. Unfortunately, over time these symptoms can be brought under control, so do not rely on them exclusively.
