Another of my older poems… written before I'd learnt to write, in my opinion…

Haunted Soul

~*~

My life,
A bunch of mistakes rolled into a ball.
My life,
A bunch of things connected by a thought.

"Who cares?" I cry.
"Who dares," say I.
"Who's there?" I shout.
"Only me," say nought…

Why do I rhyme?
What point must I make?
I live a dreary existence
And sing my mistakes.

What am I doing here
Upon this sodden earth?

The ground beneath me swells, I see it crack.
I do not care.
I look at the sky, the smoke turns it black.
I am not scared.

The molten fears erupt forth,
Cleansing my mind of all its worth.

This is the song of a
Haunted soul
Neither living nor dying,
Caught in limbo.

"Who cares?" I cry.
"Who dares," say I.
"Who's there?" I shout.
"Only me," say nought…
