she gave him her heart
she gave him her soul
but that wasn't good enough for him
he demanded more
she cried and she pleaded
she got on her knees
"this is all I have to give
won't you take it,please?"
and all he said was no
she was drowning in her tears
and all the while
he didn't feel pity,
he even cracked a smile
so she laid there in self-loathing
she wallowed in self-doubt
thinking it was her fault
but then she figured it out
it isn't her fault
that he has a heart made of stone
or that he cares for noones feelings
but his own
she doesn't need him to help her exist
and she came to the conclusion of this:
"I gave him my heart,I gave him my soul
he doesn't want it, so I should let him go."
She walked up to him
she said to his face
"I'm saying goodbye" she declared
"No more being sad about you
not being there
why should I care if you don't care?
I finally realize I don't need you around
I am who I am
regardless of whether I'm with or without you
I'll always be me
and that's all I'll ever need to be
I gave you my heart,
so you could take care of it
I gave you my soul,
so you could help it fly
but I will never trust you with anything again
because you left both my heart and soul to die
all my memories of you I'll erase
I won't think of your evil face
I'll erase,
until theres not one thing I haven't forgotten
everything you said will be nonexisistant,
without a trace
because all you did was lie"
So now her heart is mended
her soul is free to fly
because she had the courage to let go,
and say goodbye.
