Trapped in a prison without walls,
Locked behind a door with no key,
Drowning in an invisible sea of voices,
Pressing against me in the crowds.
I scream to be free,
To be back where I belong,
Not here where no one understands,
No one sees,
No one hears.
I miss the arms embracing me,
Protection against the raging sea,
I miss the warm smiles,
The bells of laughter,
The twinkle in your eyes.
So far, so very far away.
I will be back someday,
Someday I'll be free,
Of this prison,
This trap,
This misery.
Then I can see you again,
Holding me tight,
Protecting me from
The prison without a key.
