A damp wind on my shoulder
Warning me, I don't know why
But everything is saturated. Worn rubber
Sole where a puddle seep through,
Though the reflection does not match
The physicality of its pouring pain.
Does the sun still shine behind
The rain? There was an atmospheric
Glitch and its light went away.
No one knows, but it was
Keeping us sane, because the words
Were unspoken, but everything has changed.
Who condemns the mythology of truth
If there's a plethora of lies
Between you and I? The silence
Is so thick I am drowning
Alive, yet I want to keep
Treading because you say it seems
As though I am doing alright.
Should I fear contrast between day
And night? I might make it
Home if I keep you in
Sight. The fog is thick; so
Bleak and white, but I'm not
Ready to succumb to this fight.
