We woke up soaked with dew; the sky was grey
And all illusions gone
In the strange dim light of that morning.
We each went home, we both were too damn cold
And hungry, and the stars had passed us by.
And all that day I felt like I was falling,
And all that day you slept
As if nothing would ever be real again.
But after dark you woke and found me there.
You laughed and told me how you'd dreamt of rain.
A falling man will feel no weight at all:
He is lighter than air.
We sat together on your bed.
The stars went by, not needing us to watch.
You held me so I wouldn't float away.
