This poem was inspired by Bryan Adams's "Spirit" album.
Specifically, the tracks "I Will Always Return" and "Brothers Under the Sun"
heavily influenced this. Please rate and review...

I know it's not that good/my best.

Child of the West Wind

 ~*~

Child of the west wind—what's in your heart?
What's wrong, child—why must we part?
You light up the darkness with your eyes
You will know where your home lies.

You'll fly like an eagle—soar through the air
You'll find where you belong—don't you despair
You'll run like the river—that flows from the west
You'll shine like the sun—your heart is bless'd.

Child of the west wind—what's in your mind?
What's wrong, child—what can't you find?
You light up the darkness with your ways
You will know where your home lays.

In shadows we're shown—the strength of the light
In time we've known—not to fear the night
We've run through the fields—we've flown through the sky
Wherever you go—we'll be by your side.

Child of the west wind—what's in your veins?
What's wrong, child—are you lost again?
You light up the darkness with your powers
You will know where your home flowers.

You'll have a dream—of a cloud that sings
You'll have a dream—of the pale morning sky
You'll have a dream—flying on silver wings
We are the same—just the same—you and I.

Child of the west wind—what's in your eyes?
What's wrong, child—we hear your cries.
You light up the darkness with your flight
You will know your home's plight.
