when small minds heart encounters

26 April 2009
Kew, England

so many little negatives about run round
thinking their "n"-"o", so cool & in style
a pettiness that makes them shrink to naught
except pejoratives that they can sound

sometimes the bitter words can hurt i've found
leaving impressions that remain a while
though quick forgetting them i know i ought
they can accumulate a putrid mound

but getting spun-up & in tizzy wound
is sometimes best dispersed with a sweet smile
hard fought, yet winning with a profound thought
that can disperse ill feelings with a bound
