Dreams,
Like shattered glass,
Lay strewn about my feet
As I stare into the heartless heavens

Chaos,
An all-reigning force,
Delves deep within my heart
And I wonder if there's ever more

Love,
A horrible illusion
Seducing me even in prayer
Even things sacred pretend it's all real

Hidden,
Always running away,
Will I ever be found?
Perhaps I am to have a lonely destiny

Friends,
Well-wishers without faces,
Surround me in my sorrow
And I wonder if they too cry

Weakness,
Unbounded within me,
Keeps me chained to misery
Where always I will waste away

Mercy,
A lover's dream
If only it were real
Perhaps I could have been forgiven
