Hey! This is my second story here, and there are no vampires in this one! Sorry, if my reviewers from my last story are reading this and you were expecting them, but I still hope you like this, I hope this will get as many good reviews as my other story, You Can Run But You Can't Hide, has been getting. Well that is it so here's the first chapter, Enjoy:

I groaned as the annoying sound of my alarm clock knocked me out of the dream world and into reality. I hit the snooze bar and went back to sleep; though trying to finish the dream that I had had before the alarm went off was impossible. I got an extra ten minutes of sleep that I so needed, though I needed more like ten hours more but I knew that was not going to happen.

Ten minutes later it went off again, I so wanted to go back to sleep and never get up again, but I knew that if mom caught me still in bed she would kill me.

"Catrina Ann Jones!" Came the shrill voice of my mom through my locked bedroom door "Are you up yet? You better hurry otherwise you won't have time to finish packing!" my mother yelled through the door. I groaned "Yes mom, I'm up." though it was no use I could already hear her yelling at my little brother, Kevin, who was in the room next to mine. I rolled my eyes; my mom was the morning person of our family. I reluctantly got out of the warm, comfy bed. I glanced at the alarm clock, it read: 7:15, this was too early to be getting up, especially on a Saturday.

I made my way into the adjoining bathroom, and turned the shower on, I then stripped off my too big pajamas, and stepped in, where I was greeted with warm water spraying in my face, which instantly knocked the sleep from my eyes.

When I got out I quickly ran into my room in only a towel and dug around in my dresser trying to find a pair of jeans and a tank top that I hadn't packed yet. After searching for a second or two I found the new pair of jeans that one of my friends Caila, bought me last week as a going away present. I put on jeans and a then was able to find a low-cut tank top, which I quickly put on and I went back into the bathroom where I hung the towel up on towel rack by the shower, and blow-dried my hair. When I was done I added some make-up to my somewhat pale face and when I was satisfied with my appearance I made my way downstairs for breakfast.

I yawned as I walked into the kitchen; the shower had woken me up but not all the way. "Morning sweetie." my dad said placing a plate of hot steamy pancakes in front of me, as I sat down at the table "Morning." I answered as I picked up a knife and a fork that were lying at my place, and began eating. That's what was best about my dad, he, in my opinion was the best cook around. And I was going to miss his cooking while I was away.

"Are you excited Cat?" My dad asked, that's another thing no one calls me by my full name, Catrina, unless I did something wrong or my mom is just try to get my attention liked she did this morning.

He was referring to me going to the new boarding school, Lanston Academy, or something like that, "I guess." I shrugged. Though not really because it was an extremely expensive school and my family isn't exactly rolling in dough. The only way I got accepted in the first place was because I got in on a scholarship. Everyone has told me that I'm extremely smart especially for my age. And when Lanston had come to my old school, Riverwood Middle School, to fill some of the empty slots that were still available they saw me and after countless meetings and tests and filling out forms, here I am today going to a school fun of rich snobby people.

I was also worried that since the school goes from kindergarten all the way through high school, most of the kids had been going there since they were really young, and they already knew everyone and had made friends and they all had their clinches of friends and they didn't have room for anyone else. "What do you mean, 'I guess'?" my dad asked.

"I don't know, it's just that, I've never lived away from home and it's going to be so hard, besides I mean aren't rich kids usually snobs, what if I make no friends?" I asked. "And another thing, what if their food isn't half as good as yours?"

He grinned at me, "Well, I'm honored that'll you'll miss my cooking Cat, dear, but I can guarantee you that you will make friends, you are a very likeable girl." my dad was doing his best to make be feel better but it wasn't really helping. "And not all rich kids are snobs, some are nice you'll see."

"Yea, I hope you're right, dad." I said taking a sip of my orange juice. After I finished eating I put the glass, utensils, and plate in the dishwasher, and then headed back upstairs to finish packing. Though I was extremely happy that I only had a few more things to pack, I had done most of it last night, but I didn't get a chance to finish, because Kendra, one of my friends, had called to say good-bye while I was in the middle of packing and she got me distracted.

"Are you finished yet, dear?" my mom asked walking in, just as I zipped up my last and final suitcase. I had about 8 total.

"Yep." I stated

"Wow, dear are you sure you need to bring 8 suitcases? I mean, you have to wear a uniform."

Yes, mom, I need 8 suitcases, I'll be there for 9 months, and besides you only have to wear it during school hours. And I am not going to where that ugly uniform a second after the last bell rings." Cat said.

"Alright dear, whatever you say. Are you sure you have everything?" she asked

"Yes, mom positive, I have checked and rechecked to make sure I haven't forgotten anything."

"Are you sure, dear? Because if you forget something, we're too far away to bring it to you, you understand that right?"

"Yes, mom, I' m 14 stop treating me like I'm 6 I can take care of myself, you know"

"Well if you're sure. I guess we should start loading the car up, we got quite a long drive ahead of us." my mom said picking up a suitcase and then almost dropping it "God, Cat what do you have here? A couple of bowling balls?"

"Mom! Be careful, that has the jewelry box that Grandma gave me when I was five!"

"Oh, dear, do you think it..wise to bring something that nice and valuable with you?" my mom asked concerned.

"Yes! It's very special."

"Alright dear, I'll have your father carry that then." she said as she placed it careful on the ground and picked up two other suitcases that were lighter and more easier for her to carry them. I grabbed two as well and followed my mom to the car. We met my dad halfway down the stairs and after some maneuvering we were able to squeeze past him.

After I had placed them in the truck of my dad's old P.T Cruiser, I went make to get a second load; as usual my little brother at the age of eight was no help at all. I passed both my parents on the way up, and they were able to squeeze by me with my last suitcases. I went up to my room for one last look around to make sure that I hadn't forgotten anything, I'm pretty good at doing that forgetting stuff I mean, but this time I was sure I had everything.

When I was satisfied that there was nothing left I headed back out, closing the door behind me. As soon as I got into the car, my dad started the engine and pulled out of the driveway. As we drove away I pulled my headphones over my ears and the whole world was drowned out as I was drawn into the music of Avril Lavigne.

Five long and agonizing hours later we were pulling into the school parking lot, while my dad looked for a place to park the car. There were a lot of cars, considering that it was close to 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Well school did start Monday. As we got out of my dad old car, that looked pretty out of place among the all the porches and other new, expensive cars in the parking lot, we got some pretty curious looks from the passing students as we made are way to the front doors of the building.

I gasped as I walked into the building; it was the most beautiful sight I had ever seen the floor was made of white marble, as was the ceiling and the front desk. The walls were made from some other kind of stone that I could not identify.

To my right was a little sitting area, with two leather couches and three leather chairs. Some kids were sitting around talking. Three girls and three boys, they seemed to be discussing something and they paid little attention to me, though they all glanced at me for a bout a second before returning to their conversation. One of the guys smiled at me, I was only able to smile back, before he turned back to his friends.

I went up to the desk, where my family was already. The women behind the desk glanced at me, "Ah, you must be Catrina. I'm Mrs. Heerse, welcome to Lanston Academy." she smiled warmly at me before turning back to my parents, "Now, Mr. and Mrs. Jones? I need you to fill out these forms." she said handing them, a stack of papers, "please, while I go show Catrina her room."

We walked in silence, they went up a flight of steps then another and turned left then right then left again then finally, we arrived at a door with the number: 310. Mrs. Heerse, took a key out of her pocket and unlocked the door. And stepped in holding the door opened for me before closing it.

I looked around, everything was so nice here, we were in some sort of living room it looked like, and the walls were painted a nice teal color while the carpet remained white. There was a reasonably large television on one wall surrounded by one big bookcase. There was a couch in the middle of the room with two chairs on either side, all were the same color a light greenish-blue. The bay windows on the opposite side were opened letting a small breeze blow through.

"Now, we were unable to find a roommate for you, since you registered quite late, so you will staying alone, but I'm sure you can handle it, all the girls on this floor are extremely nice, and won't have a problem with helping you on your first day." Mrs. Heerse said leading me along into an adjoining room, which turned out to be a bedroom.

The walls were painted baby blue, and the covers as well as the drapes over the bed were also blue but a bit darker. There were two large windows around a door that led out onto a small balcony, across from them was the bed as well as two chests of drawers. There were two doors near where I was standing, which I assumed one was the bathroom and the other was a closet. "Alright let me give you the basics Catrina:" she started, "First: welcome to Lanston Academy, again, second, you will be getting your schedule tomorrow at breakfast, so you have to be up by 7:30, that is when breakfast is served everyday. Though, you have a makeshift kitchen here, with a refrigerator and all but no stove, I think you can figure out why. Lunch is served at noon and dinner is served at 7:30 p.m. daily, though you do not have to attend, every meal or any at all though it is highly recommend that you do, but if you wish you may stay in your room. But you are not, I repeat not allowed to campus without permission, if you are caught leaving campus without a note drastic action will be taken." she warned

"Okay." I said.

"Those are the basics rules that should be followed, you will be getting a planner tomorrow that will contain the rest of the rules. Well if you are done looking we should be going, your parents are probably done filling those forms out by now"

When she and I were out of the room, she locked the door and we headed back to the lobby, where we found my parents waiting anxiously.

"Ah, I see you have finished, here I'll take those, and you can take her bags up to her room, here's the key, dear. " she handed it to me. "Please don't lose it, it is a very long tedious process to get another one made." she warned me before turning around and heading back to the desk.

It took only two trips to get all of my bags to my room. Then the time came for my parents to say good-bye, my brother too, though he actually looked happy to see me leave, Though that was because now I won't be able to torture him anymore. These toke a good ten minutes, because my mom, being the drama queen that she sometimes was, starting crying and saying over and over that she didn't want to "leave her baby" as she put it. I was so thankful that no one was around to see her like this, but finally at around 3:00 they left. When they had were gone, I sighed and flopped on the on the couch, and turned on the television, but it wasn't long before I had fallen fast asleep.

Well, how was it? Should I continue or quit? Please review, next chapter will be longer (maybe). If I have the time and if I don't suffer from writer's block like I am doing with my other story at the moment. If there are any spelling/grammar errors, sorry I proofread it to the best of my ability. Well, anyway, until next chapter see ya and review!
