Hey, sorry for the late update, been really busy with school and my other stories. But here’s the update, finally. I made a mistake last chapter, she’s transferring from Riverwood High School as a sophomore. I’ve also decided to take the whole uniform idea away, there are now no uniforms. Thanks to all my reviewers:

Carbon Slash, Adders721, MixdEmtionz, estelle liri. unerasable words, Close Your Eyes and Dream. Mini May, Blackbadfish, PhoenixFire415, kelli, Unclaimed and Spidersdiction

Here’s chapter 2, Enjoy:

I jerked awake around midnight, by my stomachs’ loud growling. It was lucky that my mom had had the idea of putting some snaking foods in my bag at the last minute.

I grabbed a pack of strawberry pop-tarts from one of my bags in my bedroom and I walked back into the “living room” where the t.v. was still on. Eating as I flipped through the channels there really wasn’t that much on considering how late it was. The only remotely interesting thing on was the news, and I only ended up watching it for ten before I finished my snack, I turned the t.v. off as I made my way to my bedroom where I threw away the wrapper. I quickly got into my pajamas and crawled under the covers, after I set the alarm I fell back against the pillows, I fell asleep immediately

I woke up six hours later by the annoying sound of my alarm. I headed into the bathroom to take a quick shower, twenty minutes later I emerged from the bathroom along with a bunch of steam, with a towel wrapped around my body and my soppy wet hair.

I had to dig around in my many bags for awhile, but I finally found what I was looking for, my hairdryer. Trust the school not to provide any toiletries at all….

After I had blow dried my hair and applied the little make-up that I wear, though my mom thought I didn’t need make-up, she said I had natural good looks. I put on a low-cut pair of blue jeans, and a blue-striped tank top. I glanced at myself in the mirror before putting on my favorite pairs of shoes.

I checked my appearance once more before I grabbed by bag from the chair where I had thrown it last night and then headed down to the cafeteria for breakfast, after checking to make sure I had everything I needed for the day. I already knew that the teachers didn’t allow you to go back to your room if you forgot something.

Once I was sure I had everything I headed to the cafeteria, I was almost to the stairs when someone ran into me, from behind, making me drop my things and strew them across the large hallway floor.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going! Are you okay?” a tall brown-haired girl asked helping me to my feet as well as pick up my strewn belongings.

“Yes. I’m fine, it’s okay.” I smiled at the girl. She looked at me curiously for a minute. “Are you new?”

“Yes.” I stated simply,

“Oh, well my name is Kristen Kenton, but you can call me Kris every one else does.” she smiled at me.

“Well, hi Kris, my name’s Catrina Jones, but everyone calls me Cat, or Catie.”

“Are you a freshman?”

“Oh, no I’m a sophomore, I just transferred from Riverwood High School in Riverwood, Virginia”(a/n: I have no idea if this is a real town or not….)

“Wow, that’s far away.”

“Yea, it’s a good five hour drive… But it’s okay. Considering the fact that I am far away from my parents at the moment…” I trailed off.

“You’re telling me.” she answered “Hey, Catie, would you like to go down to the cafeteria with me?”

I shrugged, “Sure.”

She smiled at me, “Great.” she said as she headed down the hall, with me close behind.

When we reached the cafeteria, she immediately headed off to one side, I was close to follow. She stopped at a table that was on the far right of the huge room. For a school that had a student body of less than a thousand students it sure had a bigger cafeteria then it needed. She stopped at a table with about five other people were sitting, all girls and no guys.

“Hey, you guys. This is Catrina, she’s new.”

“But everyone calls me Cat or Catie for short.” I added, before she and I both sat down, and she began the introductions, “That’s Madison,” a blonde haired girl smiled at me before continuing her conversation with the girl next to her. “Abby,” a brown haired, brown-eyed girl waved at me from across the table, “Leslie” a curly redhead grinned at me, I immediately noticed her perfectly straight teeth, “Laura,” another curly blonde haired, waved enthusiastically at me, “and Cari she and Laura are twins.” she explained, seeing my look.

I nodded and sat down, well at least I knew some people now, which put me at ease,

“So, Catie, what classes do you have today?” was the first question I was asked by I think, Laura.

“Well,” I paused as I reached into my bag for my schedule that had been sent to me in the mail. “Um… I got AP Chemistry first, then AP Calculus, Choir and then AP Language.”

“Wow, you’re in all AP classes?” Kris asked, grabbing the schedule from me. “ And you’re in tone more AP class tomorrow and two honor classes! Holy Shit. You’re really smart.”

I blushed at the comment, “Um, I wouldn’t consider…”

But she cut me off, “Oh please girl, you’re a genius.”

“Um… thanks.” I said as she handed me back my schedule.

After a couple of minutes of talking, there was a loud whistling sound.

“Alright, you guys it looks like they’re serving breakfast now, let’s go.” Kris said as she got up and dragged me towards the far side of the cafeteria where breakfast was in fact being served.

After we had gotten our food, we headed back towards our table and sat down. I immediately began to eat, suddenly very hungry. As we eating everyone was very curious about me and asking plenty of questions like, Where’d you come from? Why’d you leave your old school? Things like that. It felt weird being the center of attention all of a sudden.

The interview was interrupted when Kris said, “Oh God, can’t he just leave us alone?”

The rest of us looked at her confused, she nodded to somewhere straight across form where she was sitting. We followed her gaze straight to a blonde haired boy who was making his way towards our table.

I saw Kris roll her eyes, “Wonder what Mr. I-think-I’m-better-than-everyone-else wants?” she asked. Everyone shrugged.

“I don’t know, but he better watch what he says, I’m not taking any of his or his little slutty cheerleader bimbo that he calls a girlfriend shit this year.” Lacey who one minute seemed so sweet and innocent suddenly turned deadly was the one to speak.

I was shocked. I had never seen that much hatred in someone’s eyes and voice toward a prep before in my entire life. Now granted I don’t like them that much either. They gave me hell at my old school. But I was a firm believer in getting to know someone, no matter what kind of label they had, and then decide whether I thought that we could be friends or not and they are not completely and totally shallow people.

This moment brought me back to my old school, to an old memory I did not want to relive…

I was the school geek, but I did have friends, I wasn’t that geeky. I always got good grades so that was why they were drawn to my in the first place. Me being so smart made them jealous somehow, they liked to make fun of every little thing about me. From my hair to how I read to how I dressed. Everything I did was somehow wrong in their eyes.

It was lucky that I was one of those people who didn’t care what others thought, but their insults always hurt,

Snob”

Geek”

Four-eyes” that was one of the most common ones I heard.

Little bitch.”

I heard the laughter, I saw them as I walked down the hallway, trying to hide their laughs behind their hands. They thought I was weird. I don’t know why they continued to pick on me, I mean it’s not like I had shown weakness and had succumbed and told a teacher. No, I had told no one even my own mother did not know of the torment I went through everyday. The other reason that the teacher agreed to watch me at lunch was because Lori, one of my only friends had finally gotten sick of my doing nothing and told on of them for me.

“Well, well, well If it isn’t the school geeks…” he stopped behind Kris. He was one of the boys I saw sitting around yesterday in the lobby, but he wasn’t the one that had smiled at me. “Who’s your new friend?” he asked noticing me for the first time.

I raised my eyebrows. “That’s none of your business.” I said.

“Oh really? Why’s that?” he asked.

“Because from the way that you’re walking and standing you’re something that I never fraternize with.”

“Oh really? What’s that?” he sounded like a broken record.

“A jock. And usually I would give you a chance but seeing as how none of the other girls seem to like you that much, I’d rather not. Sorry” I turned back to my food.

I could tell that he was somewhat shocked for he didn’t say anything for a few seconds and after a few moments of silence he stalked away.

Well, there’s chapter 2 finally! I hope you all liked it! Next chapter will be up soon, I hope, so until then, see ya and review
