Night Twelve: Continue

Katsuya blinked a few times as he kept his hand over his mouth. He was adapting. Miroko looked at some of the stray blood on his hand then fell back.
"Sorry, are you okay?" Katsuya asked.
"I'm alright. It's just fatigue." Miroko panted.
Katsuya's eyes went back to normal before he looked at the stain on the back of his hand. What would happen to his family if he stayed like this? He sighed. He wondered about Kaede too since Siren said she couldn't find her. He wasn't deeply disappointed but he was a little worried. That had to have been a good sign at the least.

Siren pulled at the thread she was using and sighed. She really wanted a different hunter costume but material was so expensive. Yohko stretched with a tired yawn before curling up. Siren shook her head then looked around her room. She sighed knowing anyone else that had seen this place wouldn't think she was a rich girl. Then again to Genda and Souja this place was better off than that orphanage they'd described. She felt a little sorry for them in fact. But she was a little more concerned herself about Kaede. That Amethyst and her minions were still out there and she probably was dinner for them. Now she felt a little less sympathetic.
"She was the one that ran off, we're better off." Siren declared aloud.
Yohko opened one eye sleepily then meowed and tried to go back to sleep. Siren sighed.
"Who're you talking to? Yohko really doesn't seem to care."
Siren looked back then relaxed seeing Yamato leaning against the wall.
"Do you really think we even needed Kaede?" Siren asked as she watched him walk toward her.
"It doesn't matter what I tell you. Does it?" He asked.
"Some opinions help." Siren replied.
"You were jealous of her right? I prefer the silence myself but she didn't mean to be so...I don't know how to put it tactfully." Yamato leaned against the wall behind her.
"A whore." Siren growled.
"That's not what I was going for..." Yamato corrected.
"That's how I feel about her." Siren replied.
"Be a little more...humane." Yamato sighed.
"I am! Trust me, if I said how I truly felt about her...well there isn't that much time." Siren thought.
"I never thought there were that many words." Yamato laughed a little.
"I can make them up if I run out." Siren replied.
"I suppose you could." Yamato shrugged.
"Why aren't you bothering the others?" Siren asked.
"I'd rather not go into that." Yamato sighed.
"Hey, I was just wondering, but how in the hell have you not starved to death?" Siren asked.
"Have you ever seen the pitcher in the fridge?" He asked.
"Yep."
"Miroko cuts his wrist and puts blood in it, plus I kinda borrowed a packet from the hospital before I came back." Yamato answered before blinked as Siren began to spit on the floor.
"What?"
"I thought that was something else and I put it in milk I was drinking earlier." She coughed.
Yamato laughed.
"I thought it was a little salty." She coughed.
Yohko meowed and purred.
"Of course I gave it to the cat after the first couple of sips. Why didn't any of you warn me?!" She snapped.
"We figured you knew." Yamato laughed.
Siren looked at her uniform and sighed.
"I wanna find those cretins anyway." Siren growled.
"They'll probably find us before we find them." Yamato shrugged.
"Tomorrow we're going out to look for them!" Siren said.
Yamato rolled his eyes and walked back out.
"I'll tell the others..." He shook his head.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Siren sat reading at one of the tables as the others did various things around her. Katsuya was quietly picking at his guitar next to her.
"What're you reading anyway?" He asked.
"Hm? Oh, it's just a book I found on different junk. Say, Katsuya? Do think that since there are vampires around here demons could exist too?" She asked.
"I really don't think so." He returned to picking at the item he was holding onto.
"Why do you say no?" She looked at her nails.
"Well, isn't that just a little weird? I mean where could a demon hide if they're monsters with wings and fangs and claws? Demons can't possibly be real." Katsuya replied.
"Yet vampires are real and can hide as average humans?" She asked.
"Yep."
"Isn't that a tad hypocritical?" She asked.
Katsuya only looked at her.
"Never mind..." She sighed before looking around at the others.
"Shouldn't we be out hunting soon?" Souja asked.
"In a minute." Kyoto said mocking Siren.
"Soon..." Siren replied before tossing her book in Kyoto's direction.
"You okay?" Yamato asked.
"Fine..." Kyoto said holding his stomach.
"She's a good shot regardless of seeing the target or not." Genda murmured.

? ? ?

Several shadows tore down a narrow alleyway with bullets pinging off the walls not too far behind. Miroko reloaded his gun and fired a few more times with one creature howling. He approached it and poured a small amount of holy water on it making it dissolve.
"You're getting better Miroko." Siren clapped her hands together.
"Thanks. Sometimes I practice with empty bottles I've found lying around the building." Miroko laughed.
"So that's what happened to my pop once then!" Genda hissed.
"And I was the one yelled at for a week." Kyoto breathed out and shook his head.
Katsuya walked past them then closed his eyes and drew his sword he reopened them showing they'd turned red and slitted before he ran ahead and sliced a second and third creature in half swiftly. He looked ahead then bit down on his finger now throwing small bullets of blood ahead making the rest of the creatures dissolve. He stood slowly and closed his eyes again before reopening them to show they were his normal pale blue eyes again.
"How'd you learn that?" Siren gasped.
"I really don't know. That's my first time trying that." He shrugged.
Siren then looked back at the other four behind her and growled angrily.
"Why can't any of you morons manage that much?!" She screamed.
The other four murmured or cowered in reply.
"Let's just go. I have a feeling." Katsuya walked ahead.
"He's kinda changing..." Genda said.
"Hmm...we'll adapt. Let's just follow him before we lose him." Siren motioned as the others walked ahead.

Alice stared out at the buildings only a short distance away. She then glanced back at the other three. Kaede nervously looked at the three vampires then looked at her halberd and gulped. She wasn't prepared to fight anyone like them if they turned on her. Then again she was deathly afraid of making one even the slightest bit angry. She held onto her halberd tightly before the elegant one walked ahead toward the eerie little girl.
"Are you sure they'll find us here?" She asked.
"I'm positive. Katsuya's a very keen boy. He'll find us even if we were to run to the ends of the earth." The little girl answered dully before looking at that even creepier doll she always held.
"I just hope so, otherwise you've made an even bigger fool of yourself Pisces." Amethyst walked back toward him and Kaede.
Kaede trembled at the thought of being their dinner over being just a mere ally. She'd run if she wasn't so afraid. Amethyst quietly walked around before looking back out toward the city. She sighed and went back to pacing. Kaede was trying to think of a way out of this before she wound up resembling a prune.
"They're closer now." Alice muttered from where she was seated.
Kaede shivered and wondered who she'd meant. Ever since she'd run into these three she was severely scared out of her mind and oblivious. Then again being oblivious ran in her family. Her brother sometimes used and had the worse of it. She clung to her halberd and silently prayed. She was seriously hoping whatever she had to do was swift so she and Katsuya and Miroko could get away. She groaned then sat on her knees on the concrete.
"What's got you so nervous human?" Pisces growled.
Kaede jumped and shivered worse.
"O-Oh! N-Nothing. Absolutely nothing!" She laughed nervously before quickly getting back up.
Like I really wanna be standing here with this monster so close to me. I got enough of this when I was with Siren and those others. She sighed.
Kaede then looked ahead as she saw something walking nearby.
"They're here." Alice looked back.
"Wh-who?" Kaede was still shaking.
"Nevermind asking questions. Attack." Amethyst snapped.
Kaede nodded dully before looking ahead and letting out a small breath. This wasn't going to be easy.

Katsuya and the others stopped. Siren's gun clicked as she reloaded it and stood ready.
"That's them Katsuya?" She asked.
"As far as I can tell." Katsuya nodded.
Katsuya drew his sword then walked ahead before growling as Amethyst's whip of blood wrapped around his wrist tightly.
"You again?" Siren growled.
"Kaede?!" Katsuya gasped.
"Huh? Oh..." Kaede looked down then looked at Amethyst.
Pisces smirked and drew what looked like an antique revolver from his belt and fired it. Siren's gun clattered to the pavement behind her.
"Split up!" She yelled.
The others scattered around while she and Katsuya remained out in the open.
"I thought you said I could have my brother back?" Kaede gaped.
"We never said in one piece." Alice giggled.
"Katsuya..." Kaede looked ahead.
"Kaede, you traitor!" Siren growled.
"Katsuya, Siren, I'm so sorry." Kaede said.
Katsuya growled now showing his eyes went back to the red color from before. He then broke the whip and held up his sword.
"So he's a little stronger. This'll be a bit more challenging then." Amethyst laughed.
Katsuya bit his finger and threw the bullets of blood again with them impacting. Alice hissed and looked at one of her hands.
"It's like acid." She said.
Amethyst growled then looked back and saw he was gone leaving the hunter by herself. She then heard a cry and looked back. Blood splattered over the pavement before Alice dissolved. Her doll only hit the ground. Katsuya looked through his bangs as he panted. Amethyst was a little stunned but not greatly. Kaede blinked in awe that he'd swiftly taken care of that little girl.
"I'll kill you all for making me like this." Katsuya growled.
"Die!"
Katsuya sliced apart the whip as it came toward him. He then narrowed his still red eyes and ran toward Amethyst. She didn't move, but the next thing Katsuya felt was something tearing into him. He collapsed against the ground as Pisces lowered his revolver.
"Granted the brat was useless, I will avenge her. You'll die first after all boy." Pisces smirked.
"You promised to give him back to me." Kaede growled.
"We lied. Anything to make a mere mortal into our puppet." Pisces smirked.
He walked toward Katsuya and pointed the gun at his head as he laid there.
"You were a disappointment after all." He said now preparing to fire.
Pisces then gasped and looked down as Kaede's halberd blade was stuck through his chest.
"You're not killing my brother!" Kaede pulled the blade back.
Pisces held the wound and growled as he faced the girl.
"You traitorous little bitch. Don't interfere!" He growled.
Kaede backed up then blinked as blood splattered the ground ahead of her. She then looked up as Pisces collapsed.
"Katsuya's our friend. We're not gonna let you harm him or his family." Siren said.
Miroko looked at Pisces then as Katsuya.
"He'll be fine. For now we worry about these two." Siren said pointing her gun at Amethyst.
Pisces slowly got back up before he froze, seeing Kaede's blade beside his neck.
"Stay down." She ordered.
"You're really on our side?" Miroko blinked.
"I was from the beginning but I kinda lost it after that last fight with Siren." Kaede replied.
"We'll apologize for shit we did later." Siren fired once then gasped as her gun was tossed back into the water nearby.
"Little brat, children really shouldn't be playing with guns." Amethyst growled as she recalled her whip.
"Old hags really shouldn't be preaching." Another voice interrupted.
Amethyst then howled as water hit her back. Kyoto smirked and held onto the empty vial.
"Besides, they're our friends. We'll kill you off to help them any day."
Souja added his own vial of water. Amethyst growled as it burned into her skin. She then screeched as small red pellets hit her from another direction.
"About time you guys kicked in." Siren smirked.
Yamato and Genda smiled at her before shrugging. Genda then tossed her his gun.
"You can have it. I want Katsuya to teach us his techniques for fighting." He said.
"Katsuya will have a lot of time after his recovery too with them gone." Kyoto said.
"But he won't still be a vampire will he?" Siren asked.
"We'll know after we tear her down." Yamato answered.
Siren fired two shots with Miroko firing after.
"Kaede take Katsuya and hide." Siren said.
"But..." Kaede began.
"We'll be fine." Miroko added.
Kaede quickly walked to her brother and knelt down. She helped him up and half fell down as she tried to hurry off. Siren and Miroko then began firing as the others went to where Kaede and Katsuya were.
"You guys are really great. I mean, you really accepted Katsuya huh? You barely know him and you're all friends with him." She got teary eyed.
"We know quite a bit about him actually. We're glad Miroko ran into him." Genda said.
"I'm sorry for letting him get hurt though." She sighed.
"He knows what he's doing. He'll be fine." Souja said.
Kaede got up slowly and picked up her halberd as the last of the bullets were fired. She walked back out into the open then growled and raised her halberd. She ran forward and slashed into Amethyst.
"You monster. I'm really not going to forgive you." Kaede hissed as she kept crying.
"And she's nuts..." Miroko murmured.
Amethyst snapped the item in half and knocked Kaede aside.
"You made the mistake of betraying us." Amethyst growled.
She stopped suddenly as a silver blade was at the side of her neck. Amethyst growled and glanced back seeing Katsuya.
"Idiot, I possess all of your memories. Your past, your identity, everything. Kill me and you'll lose it all." Amethyst growled.
Katsuya narrowed his eyes then swiftly moved his sword. Amethyst then collapsed. Katsuya lowered the blood covered sword and looked down at her body.
"I don't care anymore. It'll come back to me one day. I don't care anymore about remembering who I am." Katsuya growled.
"You're still injured." Siren began.
"I'll be fine. Where's Pisces?" Katsuya asked.
"Took care of him. Actually he got away. But with his injuries he won't last forever." Siren replied.
Kaede looked at them then sighed and sat up.
"Are you still a vampire?" She asked Katsuya.
"Yes. I will be for the rest of my life." Katsuya answered.
"Hmm...but doesn't it work if the head one was killed all others turn normal?" Kaede got up.
"I guess not after all. Are you alright?" Katsuya asked.
"I'm fine. You should get patched up." Kaede said.
"I'll be fine." Katsuya smiled.
"What'll mom and dad think then?"
"Are you going to tell them?" He tilted his head slightly.
"I don't think so. They would never believe me. This is has been a really strange adventure." Kaede laughed.
She then began to walk past Katsuya and the other two as the others emerged. She stopped and picked up the shattered pieces of her halberd then resumed walking.
"Where'll you go now?" Genda asked.
"Not sure. I'll probably go back to school to analyze this. Just with this whole thing alone I could write books." She laughed after she stopped and turned.
"Look, before you go. I'm sorry okay? I guess you really were helpful." Siren said.
"Hm? Oh, that's alright. I was a little pushy. You'll all have to invite me back sometime." Kaede went back to walking off.
"Oh!" She stopped again and turned.
"Forget something?" Yamato asked.
"Actually yes." She nodded.
She walked back to the others and stopped in front of Miroko. Miroko blinked then went clueless as she hugged him.
"Take care of my brother okay? He's actually quite a handful." She smiled.
"I can manage." Miroko laughed.
"Katsuya, be careful okay? I'll just tell mom and dad I never ran into you." Kaede said.
"Thanks sis." Katsuya smiled.
"See you later!" She walked off.
"I think she's snapped." Siren murmured.
"And she's hiding it?" Kyoto asked.
"Boy is she ever." Siren replied.
All of them stopped and looked clueless as someone's stomach growled loudly.
"Who was that?" Siren laughed.
"Sorry." Genda apologized.
Siren began to walk off with the others not far behind. She sighed but was really glad that things would calm down for a bit now. She just needed a better handle on her weaponry.

? ? ?

So that's pretty much it. To this day a lot of people still don't think I'm a vampire. But it does raise a few questions about why our club is only open at night and yes we did repair it. I suppose this all wasn't too bad to explain. I'm still glad for all of them and Kaede will write sometimes to us all. I'm still waiting for her book to come out that she said she may write. Siren still thinks she went insane calmly if that's even possible. Even if she never does write I've told my own angle of this story. Who knows, I may do it again if I ever wind up battling something like Amethyst and Pisces again. It still makes me wonder if Pisces did survive the battle too but I'll have to wait until then.
Miroko? Miroko's been okay. He's finally gotten off my case about telling this to people. I guess to him this story would be interesting to anyone who would read it. I don't even miss having an A-typical life like anyone my age would be. I'm just glad all my friends are still by my side. I just hope they still will be if another enemy surfaces. Hopefully, too, one day I'll regain my memories fully and see my strange sister. For now, I guess she'll only be known in my mind and this story. See ya!
