Author’s Note: Just a little ditty I came up with while reading a LOT of romantic poems by various authors. Nothing special really.

To David

To my dear David, whom I love,
I hope these words may reach you,
For you are far from me, my love,
And now I must beseech you:

Come back to me, for I am lost
Amidst this sea without you;
And o’er this bridge I have not cross’d,
For I will fall without you.

If I be dear to you, my love,
As dear as new day’s dawning,
Then you’ll come back to me, love,
Beneath our true love’s awning.
