Fairytales
Why is it that the Brothers Grimm
seem to have a secret
on which they can't let me in?
I want to know it
so I can sing
to the world of my story
with the fairy tale ending
Cause in real life the edges aren't cut so clear
Seems no one's coming,
I'll be sleeping for
a hundred thousand years
Where are the little men
who should be helping me?
My fairy godmother hasn't appeared yet
as far as I can see
Where's the glass slipper
that won't disappear at midnight?
Why is it that this Prince
just doesn't feel quite right?
My hair isn't long enough
for anyone to climb
No king will mistake the talent
of spinning straw to gold is mine
I'm still waiting to write my story
Someday my prince might
just come for me
For now it's poisoned apples galore
Evil stepsisters, rock hard peas
in my mattress and more
Maybe our stories can't all be the same,
But why is it that some have tales
that put mine to shame?
Why is it that the Brothers Grimm
have a secret on which they can't let me in?
