OPENING SCENE

Cast:
SHERIFF MILLER: Protector of Everton, local master of bluegrass and
country guitar

WYLD PHYRE: Hard metal-rock super-band/gang whose 80's developed
musical style have defeated innocents, corrupted the pure, and
conquered towns. Their look rivals that of Foreigner and Van Halen if
they merged to a fearsome third-rate band. The four lead members are
as follows:

PIFF: Powerful drummer with drumsticks that can shake mountains.

PAUL: Bass guitarist and powerful axe fighter

BAILE: Silent but deadly guitarist with lethal-quick harmonic riffs

RAIDON: Cold lead guitarist with riffs that strike fear into the
hearts of citizens.

This scene introduces the town of Everton and the main villains for
this arc, an early 80's heavy metal super-group called Wyld Phyre. It
also introduces one of the main characters in the town, SHERIFF
MILLER.

The town of Everton resembles an old, rural town that has been around
since the wild west era. Small streets and intersections square
around Main Street. Think Silver City from Joe Dirt style - a little
backwards, but has some present-day architecture.

There are four key locations to this town: The City Hall, the
Sheriff's office, the Three-Step Saloon, and Center-Stage.

The town folk are preparing for an evening festival, so Main Street is
going to be busy with pre-show activity. Tables are being set up, the
fire pits and barbeques are firing up, and Center-stage is being set
up by local crew.

Meanwhile, SHERIFF MILLER patrols the crowd, and in typical sheriff
fashion, sports a sheriff's hat and an acoustic guitar slung around
his shoulders behind his back.

The scene starts as if a camera is closing in on the town from a
distance.

1) Distant shot of the town of Everton silhouetted by a cool, bright
orange sunset in mid-phase. Text on upper-left hand corner in bold
face.

2) Close shot of town welcome sign

SIGN
Welcome to Everton. Population: 100

3) (Can be continuing shot) Closer view of Main Street in center. The
town is preparing for a festival, so include street traffic (i.e.
villagers, children, etc.)

PAGE 02 (4 panels)

1) Villagers setting up tables on the street

2) Barbecue grills firing up on sidewalks

3) Stage crew setting up light riggings on stage / your choice of "stage
set-up" picture

4) Shot of the square, or Center-Stage. The place is packed with
activity-people setting up the stage, children playing and running
around, villagers setting up tablecloths and festival decorations.
The scene also captures at least one or two of the other key locations
in Everton.

PAGE 03 (6 Panels)

1) SHERIFF MILLER patrols through the crowd, his mood elevated by the
high spirits of pre-festival fanfare.

2) As SHERIFF MILLER wanders through the crowd, a female villager
flirtatiously greets him.

FEMALE VILLAGER
Hi, Sheriff.

SHERIFF MILLER
Howdy, Miss Bradshaw.

3) A BARBECUER greets SHERIFF MILLER.

BARBECUER
Hey Sheriff, gonna bust out with the mad skills tonight?

SHERIFF MILLER
Only if I get shitfaced, Earl.

Sheriff Miller is looking back, not noticing a large silhouette mostly
off-panel, blocking his way.

4) Long Medium Shot of Sheriff Miller stoping short of four (shadowed)
figures. Sheriff Miller casually looks up at the figures in his way.

5) The four figures' faces are revealed in detail. They are the members
of Wyld Phyre, condescendingly sneering down at SHERIFF MILLER. From
left to right: PIFF, PAUL, BAILE, and RAIDON the lead
singer/guitarist.

6) Sheriff Miller begs the question in a close medium shot.

SHERIFF MILLER
(Welcoming, but reluctantly) Can I help you fellers?

PAGE 04 (4 panels)

1) RAIDON, close shot.

RAIDON
Yeah, you can.

2) RAIDON draws his guitar in front of him.

3) Extremely close eye-shot of RAIDON.

RAIDON
You can bow down to your new masters . . . of ROCK!

4) RAIDON unleashes a crazy guitar riff while striking a crazy '80s metal
pose. The sudden riff creates an impulse blast physically knocking
SHERIFF MILLER far aback before he can draw his own guitar.

PAGE 05 (7 panels)

1) The crowd gasps, and reels back in shock. (Medium shot)

2) Close shot of RAIDON

RAIDON
Silence, mortals! And listen . . .

3) Extreme close shot of RAIDON's hand as he snaps his finger.

4) PIFF draws out his drumsticks.

5) PAUL pulls out a bass axe/guitar

6) BAILE draws out his harmonic axe/guitar.

7) RAIDON coldly continues his statement

RAIDON
. . . listen to your futures . . .

PAGE 06 / PAGE 07 (2-page Splash + 1 panel)

1) (SPLASH - both pages) Wyld Phyre's chaotic display of power is in full
effect. Violently strumming and rocking out on their instruments, the
members of the band uninhibitedly strike commanding super-star metal
rock poses. As tremors ripple across the earth beneath them, the sky
quickly turns gray, and red and yellow bolts of lightning shatter the
sky.

SFX
KRAKKA-THOOM! KA-THOOM!

Energy beams shoot out of the three guitars. PIFF's drumsticks slam
on flashing circular pulses of energy as if he is hitting invisible
drums. Their eyes glow red, and it's as if their mouths were
breathing out fire.

2) (ON SECOND PAGE) Close shot of RAIDON's face, screaming an Ozzie
Osbourne scream. His eyes glowing red, his mouth breathing fire,
RAIDON growls:

RAIDON
. . . because we are your destiny.
