I’m falling, crying

Screaming and bleeding

What must I do to save myself?

This darkness

Just too much

Surrounding, engulfing

Drowning, and overwhelming

The light is so far away

And the darkness unable to be tamed

Hiding beneath the covers

A child given to the abyss

And still no one sees

The light has disappeared from her eyes
