When something's too good to be true,
(And nothing compares to you)
Then it's likely a lie
(And it's likely to die)
This I've learned and this I know.
(But I can not let you go)

I can find no flaws in you
(You're a saint, I swear, it's true)
But there must be some, hidden there...
(No one breathes perfect air)
Am I looking too far in?
(Is this a battle I'll never win?)

Why do questions haunt me?
(Can I simply not be free?)
I want to be without care
(And our love takes me there)
And yet you also tie me down
(I never wish to see you frown)

Your perfection I must applaud
(And see myself as all-flawed)
Are you real? Am I dreaming?
(Or are you merely scheming?)
I must enjoy what we've got
(Or see my soul surely rot)

So much is going in my head!
(I almost wish I were dead)
My thoughts are jumping without warning
(It keeps me in a state of mourning)
Make it stop! Make it end!
(Or my mind, I will rend)
