We immortalized a white-kissed death

.

Red flags, they raised – macabre in their crimson dance

A cruel mockery of colours from a fairy tale’s romance

.

They fly in the wind, evil in their victory and (weeping) laughing

Sewn with heartstrings and cold flesh, (blood) colour never seeping

The snakes of their triumph always, always, come creeping

.

Red flags, scratching welts on defeated, determined eyes

Digging beneath the rust to find joy in salty water rise–

Scratch scream scry for spirits soar with red flags high in skies

Lost in the bloody chorus of tainted cries

.

Death plays a dirge on your (flute) tibia bone

And red flags flow in rivulets stream down sun-kissed stone

Have you any sins to atone?

.

I was an angel once, an angel in human skin

But angel is no more human than demon deep within

.

My red flags flutter in your mercy screams for breath

.

.

My red flags

.

.

Mine.

Inspiration: 1) A picture of red flags, and 2) Wars fought in the name of goodwill. I know that some sentences are worded improperly – I wanted them like that.

.

If you have any comments, tell me. I haven’t been writing at all for awhile, so I could use some help to get back on track. Butcher it, if you like; as long as it’ll help.
