There's something where my heart should be,
It beats blood through my veins,
The way a heart should.
And yet...
I swallow.
It is still here.
I blink.
You are still gone.
Part of me expects you to haunt me.
To kiss my cheeks with breeze,
And lick my hands with flame.
It blows.
My cheeks are still pale.
It burns.
My hands are still cold.
I float in the water where you swam,
And gaze at the sky you admired.
It's all a dream.
Possible but not plausible.
365 days to remember.
Just as many to forget.
I grow.
But I still love you.
I change.
But you are still the same.
They pretend to move on.
With hollow eyes, and forced smiles.
Am I alone in understanding?
We all cry at night, without you.
They pretend.
You are still missed.
They grieve.
You are still gone.
There's something where my heart should be,
It beats blood through my veins,
The way a heart should.
And yet...
