Smile Empty Soul

A.N. I thought of the title for this piece before I realized that there was a band called this…I don’t own the band, and I don’t think they can own the phrase…

I seek negative attention

To sooth my aching heart

I draw red blood upon my skin

To make my bleak soul smile

Smile, empty soul

Lungs, learn to breath again

I beg my mind to keep myself intact

Tangible emotions

Unfold like paper cranes

Beauty lost and falling to despair

But I can feel

My divine disenchantment

Swelling up inside

And taking over me

Smile, empty soul

When happiness eludes my mind

And suicide begins to infiltrate my thoughts

Smile, empty soul

When my heart stops beating

When I give in to the madness

That will consume my all

Smile, empty soul
