Autumn

The sun swept leaves of gold and brown

Fly along the chilly winds.

Above it rules the yellow sun

With the fresh dawn it brings.

The children whisper their playful song

among the velvet skies

While passing through the darkening wood

the autumn winds pass me by.

The crisp gray mornings wake us up

With their half hearted warmth.

Each single tree with secret love

of the dawning day to come.

Now whilst floating in the air

The afternoon does sing,

About the exquisite animals

that around autumn bring.

The smokey air that comes at night

fills us all with dread

for knowing that the day we had

has just come to an end.
