"Zebra this is dispatch. The car you are trailing is red hot and driver is under investigation. Apprehend and use force if necessary."

The radio transmission ended and the face of the police officer in the driver seat tightened. The red Intrepid they had been following was stolen and the driver is wanted. The car began to go faster and it occurred now to the police officers in pursuit that the gas pedal was the only way home tonight.

"Alright, and now that they are playing my game..." The man in the Intrepid said. Then in a burst of adrenaline with a help of desperation the car sped up a little more. He came to a cross roads and a set of reds. As it looked like he was going to go through he hung a left and lost the police.

The car pulled in to an alley and the driver got out. He popped the trunk and grabbed the sack that was inside of it. He looked up and pulled down the ladder hanging from the pannels on the side of the appartment building. He began to climb up. Out of the sack he took a hammer and un did the ladder from its possition and carried it up to the top of the building with him. At the top, he through across the ladder to the other building and ran across the ladder. On the other side he picked up the ladder and laid it down. He slid down the other side wear it and another building connected. On the next building there was a small shed where inside was a stairway into the building. He through open his sack and undressed. He put his clothes into the sack and took out another set of clothing, a McDonald's uniform. The man went down the stairs and out of the door at the bottom.

"Where were you Mr. Daniels?" asked the shift manager, "Smoke break remember..." Matt Daniels said with a slightly stumbling voice. "Alright, now get back to work. We don't want to keep people waiting all day long now do we?" and than Matt ducked under the drive-thru desk and took his place.

After about twenty minutes or so of work, the police showed up inside. Everybody was forced to leave the restaurant while the police were asking some questions. "May I speak to the manager here... Mr...?" One of the officers asked, "Daniels, Matt Daniels. Yeah sure, he is in the back."

The officers went around back to talk to the manager but he was not there. They went back to Matt and asked, "Your Manager. What is his name? Would it be Wilson?" he asked, "Yes that is him." Matt told the officers. "Do you know where he could be?" they asked, "Yeah, he is probably up on the roof having a smoke break. I can bring you to him if you would like." He said...

Up on the roof inside the shed the officers opened up a sack that they found. Inside was a shirt and pants. Inside the pants was a wallet containing nothing but a drivers license. The drivers license was issued to a Gordon Wilson. They opened the door to the roof and there was the shift manager, Gordon Wilson. "Mr. Wilson..." "Yes?" he answered back surprisingly. "Gordon Wilson, you are under arrest for Grand Theft Auto, and two counts of reckless endangerment. You are going to have to come with us now. You have the rite to remain silent, anything you say or do can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the rite to an attorney. If you can not afford an attorney one will be provided for you. Now I hope it doesn't bother you bur spread'em.

After the police left. Matt went back downstairs and into the locker room where he changed into his regular everyday clothes. He exited the building and walked arround back where at the end of the alley he seen the Intrepid that he left there.

Matt drove the car back to his house on the opposite side of town. He parked the car outside the house, and opened the garage with an opener he keeps under the dash. Out of the car he went into the garage and into an Oldsmobile that was occupying the area. He parked that on the other side of the driveway and than drove the intrepid inside...The garage door closed behind him.

The garage was completely filled with everything a mechanic would ever want. Matt took out some take and newspaper from a little bin. With the newspaper and tape he covered the windows of the car. Towards the back of the garage there was a bunch of painting equipment. When Supper time rolled around, the candy-apple red Intrepid was now Jet Black.

Now a screwdriver was needed. Matt unscrewed the license plate on the back and took it over to a tool box. In the rachet compartment he through open a hidden compartment behind it to reveal two license plates. He took the one assigned to the Intrepid and through the one he had unscrewed in. He locked the large tool box back up, and took the side door back into his house.

Matt plopped down on his reclining chair in front of the television and went into a deep sleep.

A dream, or rather a flashback came rushing back into Matt. It was a flashback of drivers training with his instructor mike. They were driving down around Union street when Mike told him this: "Remember to keep five seconds behind the car in front of you. If the car behind you is a good driver then you can use this as an advantage against danger."
