Boarding school blues

Capítulo Uno:

I waved goodbye sadly to my friends and family as I boarded the yellow school bus full of kids around my age. As I got on to the bus the bus driver scowled at me and told me in a gruff voice, "Sit in the back." I raised my eyebrow and did as she asked of me.

I sat on the back seat of the bus staring out at the parking lot. My little sister was crying because I was leaving. I couldn't blame her though; I was going to be gone for a long time.

I shifted to sit comfortably on the two seats taking up both of them. In reality although the scene around me felt sad I was deeply angered and felt hurt. I couldn't understand how my parents could let me live away from home so easily. Didn't they love me, or even cared that I would be gone for so long?

I had already decided I didn't want to go home for spring or winter break to a family who clearly didn't want me around.

I looked at the window one last time and saw my friends still waving in the distance. I guess they'll really miss me from everything that I've done.

An hour had nearly passed since I had gotten onto the bus. A girl sitting all the way at the front approached me. She was wearing the uniform that I knew I would have to wear soon.

Navy skirt, navy jacket, red necktie, and navy knee length stockings. She looked like a flight attendant. "Hello," She said gingerly. "My name is Darcy Kerr." She said smiling, "may I have a seat next to you?"

I noticed that there were nearly a dozen empty seats all around us. "No you may not." I said mimicking her high voice. She must have been one of those good students that went to my new school. She looked disheartened at what I had said, "There are plenty of other seats that you could sit in. why would you want to sit where I am sitting?" I asked snootily hoping she would get the (very) clear message and leave.

"You're a delinquent aren't you?" She asked with her eyes glowing. I could see a smirk coming across her face.

"What's it matter?" I asked sending her a threatening glare.

"Oh nothing." She said acting as if it really were nothing but clearly it was something, "it's just that . . .well . . . you had better smarten up. Other wise you'll be sent out of Manchester house like that." She snapped her fingers.

"The sooner the better." I said looking away from her.
