Fire versus Water

Fire builds me up
Water breaks me down
Burning shell of my soul
Innocent droplets on my core
Flickering flames devour
While water drowns
.
Age versus youth
Hate versus love
Fire versus water
Both destroy the other
Yet--
They both
Entwine
And need
One another.
