Author's Note: This was a project for school, but my mom said I should get
it published, like my cousin. *rolls eyes* Like I really want to be
compared to my cousin, no offense Jenn. Anyway, here's the poem that earned
me a decent grade.

The Simple and Beautiful Things of Life

Being the first one awake in the morning
Birds chirping at the window
Sitting on the porch at the crisp of sunrise
Seeing the dog jump up and down as I walk towards her
My cat running to comfort me when I get home
Flowers blooming in the spring
A crisp summer breeze blowing through my hair
Dipping my toes in the chilling creek water
Going on a picnic with my family
Watching hummingbirds sip sweet nectar from flowers
Seeing a doe and her fawn running across an open field
Sitting under a tree reading a book
My cat tickling me with her tail
Listening to music
Playing your own music
Watching someone you love having fun
Talking on the phone all night with your friends
Hearing your favorite song on the radio and singing along
The look of a surprise
Watching the waves break on the shore of a beach
Going on a long awaited vacation
Spending time with your loved ones
The satisfaction of someone reading your written work
