Tears of Midnight

I'm sitting in my driveway
And staring at the moon,
Not full
Not whole
The moon that shines through my hair
Soothing my senses
Icy kisses of the midnight moon rain down around me
Shivers up and down my spine
Darkness floods the stars
Hit fast
Hit hard
By the beauty of silence
Of darkness
Of fear
The frozen cement at my back
Cuts into flesh
Barley bloody
Beneath the moon
Still shining brightly
But not whole,
Crying myself to sleep.
