Painting with perfection
The canvas peels back.
I paint the picture
Of a forgotten past.

Tortured souls
Envious colors.
They watch in content
As I paint their face upon my life.

I can't let go
The brush is too thick.
The paint smears
My tears mix in.

The colors so dull
Faces so blank.
How to paint something lost?
Running from torrents of color.

Don't give in
Its not the right thing to do.
My brush stops
As I try to paint you.

I fail.
It's just impossible.
You are so different
Your color so vivid.
