strong and defiant
victorious even after defeat
proud even after a fall

and we’ll stand on the shoulders of giants
much larger than life
the whole world below us, open to see
and we’ll be above the strife

and we’ll stand on the shoulders of giants
eyes open wide
the future shining before us
our history out of sight

but the wind blows much colder
up on the shoulders of giants.
