Life So Unfair to

Delaware was going to suck. Alaris Dican knew it because the circumstances for moving there already did. His parents had divorced and because his mother was the “independent” woman, she had taken a new job three hours away from their old home even though Alaris’ dad had moved out of their pricey New York flat. Alaris had heard her tell a friend that she wanted a new, different life to start. Couldn’t she have done that with out leaving the only place Alaris wasn’t the “freak with blue hair.”

oh wellAlaris sighed to himself as he looked out the window. They were driving through the middle of Philadelphia, “why couldn’t we move here,” he mumbled to no one in particular.

“Because,” Nahrees Dican said smiling like a the Cheshire Cat, “you need to experience something different.”

“Nothing’s gonna be different, mom,” Alaris grumbled that’s why Delaware’s gonna suck.

“Honey, it’ll be fine,” his mother said sternly but still wearing a comforting smile.

Alaris just watched the cityscape he loved move behind them as they sped quickly into suburbia hell.
