I saw you
tonight

they were all the same
only older
and drunker
but otherwise
all the same

I got to hug him
one last time
for the count

he misses me
I think
but not as much
as I have missed
for the past 3 years

I am never giving him up.

I feel so foolish
trying so hard
for something that has
never worked.
