I can't feel anything
Locking away every emotion
Every heartache
Every look you've given me
Inside a shell I loathe
As it crumples and crashes
Within me, slowly and painfully

I wait for a sign
Something you can give me
A way for you to show me
Everything
A way to leave this place
Get away; run so fast
They'd never catch us

I reach through the darkness
Groping for a hand
That never appears
Maybe you've forgotten
The love we once shared
Maybe you've deserted me
With all the whispers
Your breath once betrayed
To my open heart

I wait for you here
In this place of darkness
Where the moon shines down
But your light doesn't reach me
I need you to show me
Everything
But I'm so far gone, so lost
Running so fast
So you'll never catch me

It's not an anger I feel deeply
Inside my soul, locked away
Inside a shell
It's a loss I've taken like a hit
To the head
So hard to stay standing
So hard to keep breathing
I feel like I'm bleeding
And your voice
Doesn't help the feeling

I wait for your heartbeat
To slow and stop like mine did
I wait here like a jail cell
Screaming into the abyss
Separating us
I ran too fast for you to keep up
Now I wait for you to catch me -Cata; 7.21.04 -- 2:54 a.m.
