the deep sea is
despondent and alkaloid-
green

dig your toes
into endless sand and if you will,
let broken shells scrape skin

and the secrets you keep
are far from being told
for the goldfish know their loyalties well

breathe like
it is the last day on earth
the salt is like the blood on your skin

please keep the vanilla sounds in your ear
of rising waves in crecendo
only to fall back to their birth

if it rains
taste
the saccharine water

catch the drops
in a white mug and keep them to keep you company,
to sip on your barefoot-walk home

we will stretch it
in our minds
before we break the green surface
