My heart was frozen solid,
No longer able to feel love.
Too scared of being hurt again,
But longing for passion's return.
The ice protected that treasure,
Causing oblivion towards all who cared.
An icy barrier,
Unable to be melted.
But then the Phoenix appeared,
Graceful,
True.
He melted the ice with his fire;
Relit a passion
Within my heart,
Burning with Desire.
Unsure at first,
If it could be real.
I thought it was just a fantasy,
A dream.
How could anyone care for me?
But he did.
And for those few moments,
I thought time all stopped.
Because I stopped running
From the unknown.
That Phoenix touched the earth,
If just for one moment.
And held me in his arms.
He melted the ice with his fire;
Relit a passion
Within my heart,
Burning with desire.
Not sure where this road
Will take us.
Or whether our destination
Will be together.
Unsure of whether
This passion will be love,
Or a passion that smolders,
As the fire burns out.
But I'll grab hold
Of the wings of the Phoenix.
Soar with him through the skies.
He melted the ice with his fire,
Relit a passion
Within my heart,
Burning with desire.
