(my first poem)
Midnight Flight

Sleepless night,
Dreamt of flight,
Over a deep
Sea of maroon.

Without ripple lay
My velvet ocean
In light of
Star and moon.

Twilght,
Is my
Fortress.
The stars,
Lining the sky
My guide.

The moon
My silent
Companion.
As I watch
The clouds
Drift by.

Never before a worry,
Forever lost my cares,
Until the birds first whistle
As dawn pierces night air.

I flee to hide from morning,
The sun brings reality
Like a snake.
The red sea unsettles
As the noisy world awakes.
