Avenger

In the starry, vast unknown
Sails a stranger all alone
Seeking for the love of his life
That was lost to the hands
Of a deadly strife.

It happened on a war-torn planet far away
She was on one side
And because he was on the other
He was kept at bay.

But true love can only be kept separate
For so long
For love conquers all boundaries
Until it's where it belongs.

When they were finally together
It was heavenly bliss
But, alas, it would only last
For one more kiss.

Feeling betrayed, a friend of the man
Was filled with rage
And shot an arrow at the girl
What a terrible mistake he had made.

The girl slumped in her lover's arms
Whispering "I love you" on her dying lips.
Then she was gone,
Her hands fell limp by her hips.

Anger took hold on his soul
He would not rest
Until he avenged her death
Until that murder payed for his crime
With his very own breath.

The search is still on going
For this lonely stranger
And with his quest
He has earned the name
The Avenger.
